I enjoyed it. The second one especially. I don't like it anywhere *near* as much as you do, but I laughed. And also felt a bit sad in the second one. 73%

Hmm, looks as though this is the final season. (The last episodes are called My Finale). :(

Ah well, hopefully it'll go out being just as funny as it ever was. It has gone a little stale in the last couple of seasons, but it has the occasional return to awesome form making it a little more forgiveable.

Sort of spoilers.

It's not the final season.

They're entirely willing/contractually obliged to continue it without JD. In it.

Scrubs is cuddly and adorable.

When will this reach e4?

I thought the last season was... um, the last.

Yay!

As I understood it, last season was supposed to be the last, but it got drastically curtailed by the US writers strike, so they're making this one to tie up all the loose ends they were going to tie up last time.

As for what thr0b says, that's news to me.

The previous season broadcast in the US last spring, and IIRC it was on E4 a couple of months before Xmas billed as "new", so assuming that was the first time E4 showed them, probably about six months from now.

Also, yeah the last season was cut short to 10 episodes (I think, give or take) because of the strike.

Because it might be a discussion about why they were rubbish?

Well it's Braff's last year.

Except, before Series 6, Braff said that was his last year.

Then before Series 7, Braff said that one was his last year.

And lo, we're back for Series 8. It's Braff's last year, unless his Hollywood movie career once again fails to take off over summer.

Could it work without JD?

I'm trying to think of another comedy that ploughed on without it's leading character, and only Eight Simple Rules comes to mind.

Whether it would work or not I'm not particularly fussed, I think it has run its course and is only getting worse as they run out of jokes/scenarios and have to resort to loopiness to get laughs. Don't get me wrong, I still think it's great, and I obviously haven't seen the new series yet, but I'd quite happily see it die this year. Possibly my favourite sitcom ever. US sitcom, anyway.

Spin City did as well, didn't it? When J Fox got ill? And that was made by the same guy who does Scrubs...

Oh yeah, of course. That carried on for quite a while with Charlie Sheen, IIRC.

Happy Days/Ron Howard, sorta. Originally The Fonz was supposed to be just a minor character, but...

Reginald Perrin... do I remember right that there was a period where Leonard Rossiter left, either as part of the story or at the end? I can't remember if it managed without him though, if so.

And of course, there's the alternative, the Game On method (also known as the Becky from Roseanne method).

Daniel.

And lets not forget that SURELY accidental Men Behaving Badly/Reggie Perrin connection.

I.E. that they're making a new version of it (but not a remake nor a continuation) starring Martin Clunes. Which has the potential to be excellent, as Clunes is a great comic actor. And as long as they don't do it as a straight remake, which would be entirely pointless.

I have "The Legacy of Reginald Perrin" as avi's.

It's okayish, but it can't hold a candle to "Fall and Rise" (one of my favourite shows of all time).

I guess I wasn't alone in feeling that way, as "Legacy" ended with an opening for further series but none ever materialised.

Isn't CSI replacing the bearded guy from Manhunter? I don't usually watch CSI, but others around me do, so I see it occasionally.

Edit: Rossiter wasn't in Legacy on account of being, like his character Reggie Perrin, dead at the time.
