Decided I fancied subscribing. I use my dad's paypal account (that I helped him set up a while back, and that he doesn't use anymore) and tried to subscribe earlier today. However, I was asked to put a credit card on the paypal account, something I can't do as it's not literally my account. I don't fancy setting up a new paypal account in my name just for this, particularly after all the hassle we had when setting up my dads account (long story....) Is this the only way of subscribing ? Could I, for example, make a direct payment to your paypal address Stu, say for 3 months of subscription ? Any other options ? I could make a direct credit card payment for example. My situation is a bit unusual admitedly, so I'm not expecting much joy, but if there are any alternatives I could use to sign-up, let me know, cheers ! |

PayPal usually lets you make payments directly by credit card even without an account, so I'd have thought that would work. |

Am I right in thinking there is a Goal Club for the discussion of Foot-to-Ball that I cannot access as a non-subscriber? And if so, riddle me this: could I highjack some old slightly-related-to-footy thread and express something along the lines of Go Spurs! to encourage the team of champions to win later, while opening myself up to mockery from other WOSers if we are crushed 16 to the nil? Or should those sentiments only be expressed in Goal Club? Also, do you play the official premier league fantasy football in Goal Club, and if so, whom or what is winning? Thanks! |

Aw Man, I recorded this game (Sky+) and was going to sit down and watch it in a bit but now I know who won. Unless... Yes, I know, I'll cling to the hope that I don't know for sure if you're being sarcastic or not.

It wasn't our first team, but even so, that was one of their best defensive performances all season. (Really.) I cooed today when I saw the defence and midfield standing in two lines like the Italians. Usually no-one comes back to defend, not even the defenders, but today we were organised enough to just concede normal goals, deflections and defence splitting passes, not goals where, for instance, the keeper throws the ball into his own net. Also, our left back used a slide tackle today, which was the first time I've seen one of our defenders do this in about three years. Later, one of our midfielders also used this technique and won the ball. This aggression is new - just a few weeks back Ronaldo kicked Dawson and Dawson apologised. However bad our counterattacking was today, that's really not our long term problem, sealing up the defence is, and today we finally showed some sign of improvement in that area. (Edit - even if the scoreline didn't agree.) |

They're normally worse than that? Goodness me, no wonder they're at the bottom of the league. Man U seemed to win that game at walking pace, with Fabio (who?) and Wellbeck (who?) able to skin the full-backs down the wings apparently at will. There was some good last-ditch blocking in the box that kept the score from being 5-1 by half-time, but apart from that, brrrr. |

Spurs sound awesome. Almost as good as Doncaster from about 5 years ago. |

Fabio was the Brazilian Under-17 Captain, and his twin brother has played at right back for Man U for most of the season, whereas Wellback is another talented youngster who's helped United to the League Cup final this year, but yes, scary isn't it, and that was actually far, far less last-ditch blocking than normal. It may be misleading to say we're normally worse - we did draw against Chelsea, Arsenal, Utd and beat Liverpool in the league - but certainly that was one of the first times we've defended as a team. Bear in mind that Gomez, our keeper, wasn't playing, nor first team centre backs King and Woodgate. Corluka usually plays as RB instead of Gunter, our centre mid Jenas was replaced by Hud the Fat, hence the slow breaking forward, plus the very nippy Lennon usually plays instead of the slothful Bentley and our first choice left winger was injured -- so if we can keep the whole defend-as-a-team thing when our better players come back, we shouldn't have a problem keeping out of the drop zone, because the talent is there, but this season it's spent no time tracking back. |

'ello, sorry to bring this up here but I tired using the contact thing but not sure if it worked and if it got to you or not or not. I subbed last weekend using my brother's Paypal account, which should have the same e-mail as my membership here, got the (automated?) welcome e-mail, but I'm still only showing as a member here. I'm maybe just being stupid and haven't noticed something I should have done to change it. I also tried PMing you as mentioned further up in this thread, but again not sure if it got to you or not. Sorry to be a bother. |

Hello, sorry to be a nuisance, but I've had a similar experience to the chap above me. Subscribed last week, received an acknowledgement from PayPal, but I haven't received any other notifications and I'm still listed as a member when I log in. Apologies if I'm missing something obvious. |
