I see absolutely no prospect of this bringing back the people who went to WoCUS, and don't want it to. It's simply a practical response to a sensible suggestion about a new situation. What you possibly hope to achieve by wrongly labelling it a "immense climbdown" utterly escapes me. Do please explain the positive outcome you anticipate resulting from that comment.

I'm sure you'll all be pleased to know that I'll now be continuing to post about once every month, in a fairly innocuous and underwhelming fashion as usual. I'm happy this has been resolved, and hope things can carry on pretty much as they were, once everyone's tempers have subsided. I'd have missed checking in on all you lot if things had all gone properly tits up. I hope you've not all pissed off to the Super Members folder or that other forum.
