Dagnabbit. Did you hone your MM skills over the years to the point where you could beat it 50 times in a day, blindfolded, with one hand tied behind your back and using 'up' to jump? Cos' that's the impression I'm getting with all these scores. >.<

Although I should ask: were a few of those time attacks achieved with or without touching the bonus 'hotspot' in certain bonus levels?

No, I never got anywhere close to finishing original MM without cheating.

All the speedrun scores are simple grab-the-keys-and-get-to-the-exit-as-fast-as-possible times. (Since I've already unlocked all 20 bonus levels it would be silly to go to the "secret" locations for no reason.) The Willyworld score was achieved while only reaching level 8, though, so if you've finished the game on one credit your score must be higher than that.

Ah, I see. I wonder if Matt Smith himself can still beat it? :D

And okies. It's just when I first tackle the bonus levels I try to unlock the rest at the same time as I'm trying to beat the default record. I suppose the art of "unlock them all first, worry about smashing records later" works just as well.

As for my Willyworld score, I unfortunately can't remember it off by heart, and having filled all but one slot on the high-score table with my various scores (all of which are higher than 5120), I can't for the life of me work out which one was achieved by beating Willyworld. All I can remember is that my current top score listed - 8701 - was achieved after a short (not full) run of TLL levels (I think I came to an end at the Centre Of The Earth stage (so ten levels in), which was a bit silly as I can usually tackle that stage no problem, but a silly height judging mistake on my last life cost me. But I digress).

Looks like I'll have to start a clean slate with v1.04 then.

I somehow got 36.514 for the Cheese-Plant speedrun. Not in the running for anything else though.

Blimey, nice work. Meanwhile, finally managed to beat Willyworld on one credit for NEW HIGH SCORE!

Willyworld is great - at just 10 levels it's plausible for a one-credit run, and it has a classic MM difficulty curve starting off easy, building up to some fierce levels near the end and then a relatively gentle final one.

Nobody interested in any of those five available speedrun slots, then? Guess I'll have to set those myself too...

Achieved just minutes ago, on the Lost Levels run.

And in a classic "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" moment, I was denied a perfect runthrough of this set at the last fucking moment, when I took a bit too long dealing with the devils on This Is The Last Cavern and ended up running out of air, a mere hair's length away from the exit. On my last life.

Maybe in another millenia's time I'll be bothered to do it again. I was just lucky to get through The Channel Tunnel and The Meteor Storm unscathed, both of which I detest to infinity.

Still, at least I topped Stu! :D

Beat Willyworld again, this time with a score I recognize. :)

(It's the second-placed score in case you were wondering.)

Curiously, I also noticed some sparkly magic going on beside Willy's positive face. Leftovers from the end sequence I presume? ;)

BTW, I honestly think 54:000 is a ridiculously impossible record to beat in "Attack Of The Mutant Telephones", even with all the literally close-shave manouvers I make. Who the hell sets all these default records anyway?

Also Stu, how in fuck can you tackle Mummy Daddy at under 30 seconds? I go full-pelt all the way and I still have to stop and wait for those heads to get out of the way further towards the top.

Similarly, I refuse to believe it is possible to beat "It's Christmas, Charlie Brown!" in under a minute. It's bullshit. I've tried. Most of the time is spent waiting for Snoopy to be able to turn the fuck back around once again because of all the bloody one-way snow paths scattered around the level.

edit: heh. I assure you RevMarzikins it is possible, but is indeed close-shave-tastic.

Oh, you bastard, myp. :D Try filming a video runthrough of that level next time so I can work out where I'm going wrong.

And! And! Aaaaand! Just beat The Final Conflict at 46:512. \m/ Almost beat Stu's The Vat record at 30:052 seconds.

Can people stop posting times with colons in them? I know it's what the game does but it's a right pain in the jugs.

"It's Christmas, Charlie Brown!" could be done in less than 48 secs.. there is a quick route than involves dropping down to the left of woodstock, jumping and falling to the bottom platforms off the right of the central platform.

If you can follow that, it can be beaten!

Though I am at a loss how you can shave 4 secs off "Bottom of the Mine Shaft" ?

Ah, getting you now! And with that....... 44.893.

While I'm at it, I think I found a slight bug - I finished The Vat with 29.356, just under my personal best of 29.372, yet the game didn't acknowledge it as a new record. Hmmmm.
