Good evening everyone. I'm running the New York Marathon in November for Orchid; being a chiseling twatter I'm pleading to everyone, ever, for donations. My online page should be hither. So take a look. Orchid do good work for sufferers of male cancers: I choose them as I've had frightening/amusing brushes with cancer scares. Abuse/encouragement/advice/mockery welcome. Beyond the above, though, there are a lot of cool things to do for the charity of your choice. A few years back I fell out of a stinky plane for homeless people (uh...the money raised was for The Big Issue rather than it being a knackered old kite laden with people of no fixed abode). So post 'em on here: if you see something you fancy trying, have an event lined up or a cause to champion bosh it into this thread. Good night and good luck! Edited by Xeethra, May 28 2009, 04:23 PM.

Advice? Don't miss the long runs - do them slowly, walk in the middle, whatever, but don't miss them. Longest 5 "should" add up to 100 miles, though some people get just as good results by racing half marathons and just doing one or two 20 milers. And take something to keep you warm - you're bussed onto the island very early in the morning, then held there while everyone else is moved over and they close the roads, so you'll have a loooong wait. |

Thank you sir! It's not too great a leap in imagination* but did you run the marathon? *Distracted by floppy hair and career musings. |

4:57. I feel unbelievably rough today. The donation site (www.bmycharity.com/v2/robtherubbish) is still open for donations. Cheers! |
