Fellow citizens of the South Pacific, allies, partners, and guests. All too often when I view our RMB, I see comments ripping us on the lack of activity there, the amount of spam there, and simply people asking about what region they should join. Never mind the fact that we are a feeder region and that recruiters do have the right to post one ad-spam message every 24 hours. Oh, no, recruitment ads must mean nothing is going on here. Each time I log onto NS, I try to post a comment on those boards, but that is not enough. Therefore, I want to point out to all of us three ways we can post onto those boards to break the lines of ad-spam and show our creativity as a region. Two have been already unveiled on these boards; one is new to the boards, but not to the RMB. 1. Word of the Day: It's simple, really. We ask ad-spammers to use the Word of the Day as determined by www.dictionary.com in their ad-spam. We can also maintain converstions using the word. It's rather fun, actually. 2. Posting: a lot of us take the time to post on the RMB, either with conversations with one another, or with newcomers answering questions. Sometimes I'll simply comment on what I see, poking fun at it. 3. Telegrams: Thanks to the Shaft for this idea. If I am crediting it incorrectly, let me know so credit can go where it is due. The idea is simple: telegram ad-spammers about their ads. Question them about parts of the ad Correct spelling or grammar. Point out flaws in arguments. If we flood their telegrams with meaningless remarks, all in good fun, they might shorten their ads. If not, there is a sense of satisfaction in the action. Do you have to do any of these? No, not really. But, who knows. You may have fun doing it. |

swiping a possibly weak idea from TWP, how about if we try to meet on the RMB at a certain time of day. ideally in the evening in the America, as the mornings in the americas seems to be quite covered. |

I'll be online when I'm online...usually covering the American (early) morning. Also, I finally got around to install a word of the day widget on the forums. Saves a bit of clicking
