Dear friends...:help: I am appealing to you all to seriously consider running for government in the current elections...The South Pacific cannot run itself, neither can so few do all that is required...:swoon: Government is not a closed shop...It is open to all... Not only do we currently have the MoR & MoFA without candidates, there is no competition for the candidacy to become PM, MoJ & MoS...:shh: A highly undesirable situation... ![]() There is only one day remaining for you to campaign... So please, ask yourself what you can do and run for government... Thank you Kloister |

It seems to me that the many slots are still blank and our candidates are unopposed... I have to agree with your observations, but what shall we do now? Shall we extend the campaign period to see if more folks would run? Shall we declare failure of elections? Shall we extend the term of the present cabinet members in the uncontested positions? Shall we... I am curious of what will happen. |

Thanks for the questions... The process is clearly laid out in the Election Law and the Charter... Those positions that have candidates standing will be put to the members for voting either 'yes' or 'no'... If 'no' wins the vote then the Delegate has the right to appoint their preference...Likewise in the uncontested seats... I was really hoping that it wouldn't come to this...

That is entirely Our Fault - Its our first time round the block with this team, and We're not quite used to each other's difference of time zone yet. It should be open now, however. |
