Fudgie's 'Fronk'...

I just wanted to take a couple of moments of your time to explain some of the reasons behind my lack of presence here in TSP over the past couple of 3 months...

Well it all started really last summer as we were undertaking some major building work to our home...We bought the neighbouring property and knocked the two houses into one...We appointed our chosen firm of builders who were scheduled to complete the works by the end of September...Alas, due to some problems beyond everyone's control this just was not possible, and given that we were also preparing for our trip to Australia & New Zealand for 5 weeks the majority of my time was spent either managing the building project or getting things prepared for the trip...

I managed to keep in touch with what was happening both here and back home, whilst thoroughly enjoying the holiday...

Upon our return home the house needed so much work during the months of November & December, just to get it ready in time for Christmas...And that was not the only driver behind this...We were approved for the adoption of our second child and really didn't want the house works hanging over us whilst adjusting to a new addition to the family...

So in-between working and decorating those 18 hour days were the norm until the end of the year...Also factoring in that my employment contract was expiring at the end of December, I also had to find myself a new job, along with trying to complete my current committments whilst only working 3 days a week (officially)...

So we managed to safely negotiate Christmas and New Year, taking some much needed family time, with the promise of starting a new 12 month contract early in January...

So we are waiting for the call at any time from our Social Worker about number 2 and just putting the finishing touches to our home...

The new job is going well, just getting to fill my head full of local government beaurocracy and the lack of process etc...

I anticipate my availability and involvement here with you all to steadily increase over the coming weeks...

I just wanted you all to know the reasons for me not being around and to thank you all for your continued support and understanding...I have missed all of my good friends here...

No worries, chief, and take it easy.

At least it's good to know whom to call when a wall is to be knocked down ;)

Indeed!

Amongst other things, we can't replace certain windows (even if we get them made to the same design), we must repair the existing ones......which takes twice as long and costs more than double!!
