Minbari Trading Post; For touristic and black market needs
Topic Started: Mar 3 2006, 07:41 PM (187 Views)
Minbaric Federal Zones
Leader of the Grey Council, Anla'Shok Na

The ancient Minbari known as Dorlin smiled as he opened his doors for the first time. His shop occupied the space right next door to Fudgie's Coffee House. He privately wondered how much of a heart attack the owner of the establishment would have if they realized what was going on next door. The front corner of the store looked innocent enough. The front quarter or so of the was divoted to exactly what it looked like, selling simple touristy goods. It was behind hte concrete wall that seperated the back three quarters that was less succulent. Naturally, it was marked employees only and required both an ID card and a retina scan to enter. Those in the know, though, who might need certain items would know that one simply has to tell the owner the password, Anla'Shok, to get in.
His smile faded as he looked at his inventory.

"Touristy Inventory"

Imitation Anla'Shok Na Robe: 122 MC (76.25 USD)

Minbari Art, 10X10: 50 MC (31.25 USD)

Minbari Art, Unique: 1000 MC (625 USD)
Various Trinkets: less than 20 MC (less than 12.5 USD)

He smiled. Most of the tourists would never realize the Anla'Shok robes on the racks were not exactly like the real ones he was wearing. He adjusted the turqouise broach that clasped his black and grey robes closed self-conciously. They were incredibly light and provided a mild sort of armor, as well as a shimmering quality that caused them to blend perfectly in shadow, as intended naturally. He tapped his console to bring up his "other" inventory.

"Illegal Inventory"

Quite satisfying. Of course, it had been immensely expensive to set up the back room, especially the implements to provide instruction. Still, it wasn't as if HE was footing the bill. The Minbaric government, in an edict straight from Yedor, wanted a shop set up here. Dorlin was Anla'Shok, he obeyed. He repeated the creed to himself, "I walk in the dark places no others will enter. I stand on the bridge and no-one may pass. I was born in starlight; I will end in starlight. I live for the One, we die for the One."

Dorlin nodded at his guest. "Very well. As you noted, that shall be 50 Minbari credits or the equivalent in whatever currency you happen to possess, as noted on the curency ticker." He hands the man a 10 inch by 10 inch oil on canvas of the senate hall at Yedor.

Dorlin smiled at the next customer. "Interesting choice. I wondered if anyone would ever buy this."

After collecting the appropriate amount of currency Dorlin handed her a relatively tall spindly structure with many delicate outcroppings that was labled on the base as "Cathedrale du Vent sur Mare Serentis."
