QUOTE (Marionetsvia @ Feb 13 2006, 01:33 AM)

please....i'm being civil here, no need for such flaming/insulting behaviour.

indeed did try to tell someone how to act, as Goddessness pointed out. He felt the behavior was flaming and insulting, because he chose to read it that way. Just becuase someone disagrees with an idea, and disagrees strongly, does not make it insulting. You, Asdif, pointed out his was constructive criticism. So was Fudgie's post. She fees that we do not need added bureaucracy to the system. She cajoled Marionetsvia to start a role-play. Has he here?

It wasn't constructive criticism. She essentiially was rude and shouted at me. I wasn't telling someone how to act at all. I simply expressed the opinion that I saw no reason for such behaviour. Was I shouting in my post she responded to? No. Did I curse? no. I was calm and civil in my post. She is able to still be civil while getting her point across in a direct manner.

this has been warned and appealed and the appeal was upheld. It needs to be dropped. This is not constuctive.

However, if you would like to see some structured RP, introduce legislation outlinging your ideas and lets have a look.

I don't agree with Fudgie's comment that a set of rules are unnecessary in roleplay. The kind of free-form roleplaying that has been done so far doesn't need it, I agree with that. However, it is unsuitable for roleplaying fights, battles or wars. In these kind of activities there have to be some guidelines on the strength of people/units/armies, as godmodding is lurking here too easily. Also, in this kind of activity there could be moments where someone who doesn't directly participate has to judge on the outcome of events.

In short, we are working on an extension of the current possibilities of roleplaying within the region, which may attract a different kind of player of this game.

I'm convinced that the more diverse a package we have to offer, the more people we will attract.

PS. That reminds me, Mario, I asked you about the TEP roleplay by pm some time ago. That question is still open ;)

I am all for it. Whatever someone is willing to structure and outline and follow through with, I think is great. Can't wait to see what's come up with.

I agree. Be it individual character-FFRP, or Nation-based FFRP, organisation and structure do matter. You're writing a story, and every story needs organisation - or flow if you will, in order for it to be effective.

Tsrill - yea, I know, I'll get it to you as soon as I can. I've been really busy the past two weeks. I'm in week 9 of our 10 week quarter systems, and I got finals in two weeks, the day before and the day after Mardi Gras, but I'll try to send it to you when I am able....
