Attitude is everything.

Hi,

Once again I have jumped into a forum without introducing myself. I have been here for awhile, some of you might have noticed the "fly on the wall". I mosty came here as an observer, but lately I have had a desire to jump into the discussions.

I have many interests, but some that I talk about the most are running (marathons to 5K), family (I am TV's wife and we have three kids), politics and journalism. I have a degree in public relations and marketing. I am a stay-at-home mom and the president of the PTA at my daugter's school. I joined NS in August and I like to come here when my brain needs something lively and potentially controversial to think about.

Elsewhere, I am King_Girl. Thanks for your warm welcome.

As said elsewhere, welcome to the South Pacific, fly. Just so you know, we fumigate on the fifth Saturdays of each month, but I'll let you know so you can flitter into safety while the fumes are strong :P

It would be easier to be at home if everyone just stopped mentioning fly swatters.

curioser and curioser...

I'm going to steal Kloister's job, in his absence, and because I miss the gift-giving...

Welcome to The Sp!
It is customary in the SP to shower newcomers with gifts…Lampshades (the official SP headgear), JAM, kegs of home brew, a strange cocktail or two, something practical, something mystical, something beautiful, and a pineapple. Some you might need, some you won't, but whether you do or you don't, they are all yours to use as you will, to leave outside for the garbage truck, or to keep, treasure and hand down to future generations. You will already have had a few bits and pieces forced upon you. You'll need a pretty big knapsack to get them all in before you're finished.

Posted Image I'm sure you'll find your way around and get the hang of things pretty quickly. Here's a map to help.

Posted Image The primary requirement to being at home here is to be ever so slightly insane.

Posted Image Here are a couple of introductory vouchers to spend in BadgerWorld <--Click here for link
- the green one gets you a free coffee and donut in the Badger-U-Like restaurant
- the blue one entitles you to a complementary fulch for your badger at Spango's Grooming Parlour.
Posted Image Parts of BadgerWorld are still being built, but feel free to have a mooch around at your leisure.

Naturally, you'll need to adopt a badger before you try to use the blue voucher - the staff don't appreciate requests to fulch humans. You don't need to be a Badger Guardian to have your coffee and donut of course, but I think you'll find a special welcome if you turn up with one of our cutie-pie friends. And really, it's worth it for the cuddles!

Here in the South Pacific we have plenty of establishments to be found in the Market Street, which has its own Map, so when you have settled in and devised yourself a lucrative little venture then pop along to the Town Hall and request an audience with the Town Planner, and pick select the location of your choice...

We also have a Map of the Entire Region, which can be found in the Department of the Region, upon which you can request a plot for your Nation to dwell...

Please take your compimentary Lampshade and Pineapple, and enjoy your stay!

Fidei
Your friendly neighbourhood pineapple plant.

Attitude is everything.

  That was a great post!

Thank you for the gifts, I will make sure to check it all out. I promise you will not be disappointed in the slightly insane requirement, and lampshades may be my favorite attire.

Anyone want to share some pineapple?

Where did you dig that material up from Fidei? And, if you really want it would be best if I do it.

It's Kloister's Wonderful Welcome Post, and PapaC's before that. I just felt sad is all, cos there are so many lonely badgers out there with no home to go to, so I thought I'd promote.

Also, I always used to give pineapples to people. Pineapples rule.

Yes please Fly! mm! ^_^
