Update on the war with the RKKA... ...it's over. Peace prevailed today, now that the conflict has been settled diplomatically. The RKKA were forced to initiate peace talks with CEO and Galt's Gulch in the face of overwhelming military odds. This cease-fire presents a significant victory not only for GG, but for all capitalist regions as well; the RKKA may not initiate aggression against any CEO regions, and they face severe and just penalties if they decide to breach this truce. With this truce also comes the liberation of the region "1969 Anti Communist Alliance", which had been in communist hands for more than a year. Although we would have won any war, waging war comes with significant costs and wears on our resources. With war averted, our resources can now be directed to more productive areas, such as the new capitalist alliance, ACCEL, and recruiting new nations. Here are the peace accords, as agreed upon by both parties. Thank you very much! -Capt. Shasarazade Gulchian Ambassador to The South Pacific Practitioner of the Dragon-Kick, Gulchian Army |

Elections are over! The polls closed yesterday, with a few changes to the Gulchian Assembly. The winners are as follows: -Lieutenant Guild Authority -Lieutenant Idolah -Captain Angry Reptiles -Captain Shasarazade -Captain Leg-ends (i) -Commodore Vox Augusti (i) -Rear Admiral Disciplez of Rand (Strangely enough, it seems the higher the military rank, the more votes were recieved. Odd, that.) The new Assembly will be inaugurated next Saturday, on July 2nd. Congratulations to all winners. In other news, the long-awaited capitalist alliance ACCEL was unveiled Thursday. ACCEL stands for Alliance of Capitalists, Conservatives, and Economic Libertarians. The alliance is the brain-child of GG's Jasque, who, at the behest of Gulchian Delegate The Anti Commie Clan, devised it himself at the World Capitalist Summit. ACCEL is currently in the ratification process on the ACCEL forums. ACCEL is expected to grow tremendously and meet great success, but only time will tell. It's already got many socialists nervous despite the fact that ACCEL's intentions are peaceful and not aggressive. Galts Gulch is proud to be the first region to sign the ACCEL treaty. We at GG are optimistic about ACCEL's possibilities. Long live Galts Gulch and The South Pacific! May honor continue to brighten our alliance. -Capt. Shasarazade Gulchian Ambassador to The South Pacific Keeper of the 12-Guage Sawn-off, Warzone Party-Crashing Co., Inc. |

lol - I hadn't noticed that about military ranks what a coincidence. Any outsider would think that the army is running GG rather than the other way around. And also congratulations are in order to Shasarazade, well done on being elected! |

Thanks boss, you too. Now! I have exciting news to announce: Galts Gulch has exceeded 500 nations as of this morning, thanks to the grueling work of our recruiters, especially Delegate ACC and Rear Admiral Disciplez of Rand, whose late-night recruitment binges shattered the goal of 500 nations by the end of the summer set by Immigration Regulation Agency Director Ayn Rand Knows Best. Galts Gulch is now the fifth largest player-created region in the world of NationStates, the largest capitalist region by leaps and bounds, and bigger than any socialist or communist region.
Long Live Galt's Gulch! Long live The South Pacific! -Capt. Shasarazade Assembly-Elect, Galt's Gulch Gulchian Ambassador to The South Pacific Master of Deadly Ninja-Archer Monkeys, Gulchian Assassin's Guild |

Yesterday, Objectivist Chimps, founder of Galt's Gulch, made known his intention to retire from the Galts Gulch administration and the NationStates world. His farewell message has been relayed to ACC, and can be viewed here. OC has always been somewhat of a troublemaker, but if you get to know a little bit about him he really is a great guy (quite funny, too!). He will be missed. |

As per the Gulchian Constitution, Delegacy elections are coming up on September 26th. Official campaigning begins the 18th of this month. The sign-up topic can be found here. Also, elections for the Galts Gulch Assembly approach. Elections will be held in the beginning of October with seven (though I think it will actually be five) seats open. Official campaigning also begins on the 18th, and those who ran unsuccessfully for delegate may enter late onto the Assembly ballot. The registration for Assembly elections can be found here. |

Last night Gulchian forces invaded and captured Warzone Australia from under the nose of The Young World warrior Gofrun. This is a great victory for Galts Gulch, a reminder that we're not dead yet, biatches, and that we're back in business within the warzone theater. The score in the warzones had been set at a dismal 5-1 TYW for over a month. Our forces took a slight nap during this time period; no invasions took place until last week, when, in an unsuccessful but commendable show of force that seemed to whisper of things to come, Galts Gulch forces tied TYW in Warzone Africa, 6-6 (TYW was lucky that time ).But last night, The Young World's luck ran out, and the score now stands at GG: 2, TYW: 4. Honorable mentions go to Vox Augusti, who was able to stand in as delegate at the very last minute; to all those abroad who had to get up at absurd hours of the night to make the invasion in time; to TYW's Gateborg, who, apparently, does not sleep, ever; and to TYW's Gofrun, who, despite harsh gloating, did not weep, too much, upon his ejection. In other news, the GG Regional Assembly recently passed the Galts Gulch Disclosure Act, which can be viewed here. This law requires all Gulchian officials to publish a list of his or her involvement abroad in the NationStates world. It will promote regional stability and allow voters to make more informed decisions in the upcoming elections. If you are a GG official (including ambassadors) with ties to foreign governments, please post your disclosures in the forum entitled "Public Disclosures." |

I would like to take this time on behalf of the nations of Galts Gulch to congratulate all of the successful candidates in the recent TSP elections. Sorry to drag you all the way into our stuffy old embassy for this, but it seems I'm not allowed to post in the results topic. ![]() But never mind that. Please accept this jar of fine pickled herring filets as a gift from Gults Gulch for an election well-done. ![]() Pickled Herring from Galts Gulch, ACC's own secret recipe. Congrats! ![]() |

Leg-ends Elected Delegate! Delegacy Elections Over, Assembly Elections Begin Leg-ends, longtime resident of Galts Gulch, has been elected to the position of Galts Gulch Delegate by a margin of five votes. ![]() Delegate-Elect Leg-ends, speaking before an audience of Gulchian officials. All three candidates for the delegacy ran excellent campaigns, but in the end Leg-ends prevailed with 8 votes to Galts Gulch newcomer and former 2005 ACA Delegate Donchatryit’s and Secretary of Information Angry Reptiles’ 3 votes each. Polls closed this morning at 12 AM, but by that time Donchatryit and Angry Reptiles had already conceded the race. Angry Reptiles and Donchatryit have both indicated their intentions to run in the Galts Gulch Regional Assembly elections, which begin today. “Both Donchatryit and Angry Reptiles ran excellent campaigns with great ideas, and I wish the best of luck to them on their Assembly campaigns,” said Leg-ends after Don’s and AR’s concession speeches, “I look forward to working with them both in the new government.” Leg-ends has served three terms in the Gulchian Regional Assembly as Secretary of State. He is also Secretary General of ACCEL and until his election served in the Galts Gulch military as a Captain. “Once the new Assembly has been elected, we can get cracking,” Leg-ends told reporters, “In the mean time the drinks are on me!” He will enter office as soon as the endorsements are transferred to him from outgoing Delegate The Anti Commi Clan, who did not seek reelection. |

ACCEL Condemns RLA Actions The Red Liberty Alliance fights invaders, and by virtue of this, they claim their righteousness in destroying the off-site community of an invader organization. Many memories were wiped out, topics deleted, regional history reduced to nothing as ashes in Alexandria. And to what end? To dispense justice to invaders? Justice abandons those who wield her in evil. The enthusiasm in which the RLA announces the destruction of the invader forums speaks volumes of that alliance’s sense of morality. With this act of mindless destruction, the RLA has shown that they are little more than barbarous thugs who will stoop to any level to obtain a petty retribution. They have trounced upon those very ideals which they claimed to have upheld, and for which they claim the moral high ground for their fight against invaders. We of the Alliance of Capitalists, Conservatives, and Economic Libertarians condemn outright the underhanded and immoral actions of the Red Liberty Alliance. The grieving of off-site forums is completely contrary to the ideals of free assembly upheld by this organization, and we demand that those responsible for this unjust act publicly apologize to their victims. We sincerely hope that no organization in NationStates ever repeats such a shameful act. In outrage, Wegason, Chairman of ACCEL, Coconut Island Afslavistakistania, Director, The New Meritocracy The Iroqouis, Director, Ayn Rand Angry Reptiles, Director, Galts Gulch Leg-ends, Secretary General Shasarazade, Secretary of War Unistrut, Secretary of Intelligence The CNNP, ACCEL Member British Glory, ACCEL Member Westmorlandia, ACCEL Member |

ACCEL Members Triumph In Warzones By Shasarazade On Thursday night, Welchyland and Psycotic Super Monkeys, YoungWorld delegates of Warzone Africa and Warzone Airspace, respectively, were kicked from the United Nations for rules violations. What followed was an entire day of complete chaos. Within hours of the two delegates’ downfall, Gulchian troops entered the seemingly defenseless warzones with force enough to take control of both. The excitement was almost palpable in the air; two previously well-defended warzones were now without delegates. But just when victory seemed assured, the former delegates awoke, and, despite their non-UN status, began ejecting Galts Gulch forces. Angered, Secretary of Defense Shasarazade sent Sithis into Warzone Airspace, which had in the meantime updated, leaving the delegacy vacant. Meanwhile, Federal Commonwealth Society, an ADN member region, sent Shawdom to capture Airspace themselves. At the same time, The YoungWorld Defense Force reinforced Cocomonkey in an attempt to reclaim their lost warzone. Quickly, FCS, aided by their ADN allies, shot to 24 endorsements, leaving Galts Gulch’s 14 and The YoungWorld’s 9 in the dust. ![]() Outnumbered, troops from Sithis (blue) exchange fire with the first wave of the combined Federal Commonwealth Society and Alliance Defense Network forces. Refusing to lose Airspace, Galts Gulch requested the aid of ACCEL member armies; Great Britain and Ireland, who had recently declared war on FCS for their invasion of GB&I protectorate region The Falkland Islands, were the first to arrive, followed closely by Alpha Omega and the Meritocratic Isles forces. ![]() ACCEL ships seen early in the morning off the coast of Warzone Airspace. Front row, left to right: HMS Great Britain, GGS Kriesland. Rear row, left to right: AOS Scandinavian Duchies, HMS Dreadnought. Once ACCEL arrived, Sithis’ endorsements reached a staggering 28, just four behind the previously-untouchable Shawdom’s 32. As word got out, troops from respected regions such as The Pacific, Germany, The North Pacific, Equilism, Scarfaces, Invaders, USSR, and One Big Island began to pour into Airspace against the FCS-ADN force. Endorsements on all sides reached record levels for the warzones, and climbed ever-higher throughout the day. ![]() The cavalry has arrived! PRP Senator The New Duce is seen here leading the People’s Republic of the Pacific cavalry in a charge. The PRP aided equally both ACCEL and The YoungWorld in their effort against FCS and ADN. As the nation count of Warzone Airspace grew higher and higher, the endorsements of the three would-be delegates skyrocketed through the thirties and well into the forties. The old record of 30 endorsements and 61 nations, set by Galts Gulch and the Coalition of Bored Defenders versus the YoungWorld and the PRP, was shattered, replaced by 52 endorsements and 112 nations in what is the biggest warzone battle ever. In the beginning of the day, FCS looked unstoppable. But by midnight the victor was clear: ACCEL would triumph in the greatest battle in warzone history. “I ejected more people in one night than I have in my entire military career,” claims Sithis, who became delegate in Airspace shortly after 5 AM Eastern. The final endorsement count of each force was 51 ACCEL, 42 TYW, and 36 FCS. That same night, ACCEL member The Meritocracy claimed victory in Warzone Australia, toppling warzone delegate and The YoungWorld founder Carinthe at 2:25 AM Eastern. They turned Australia over to Galts Gulch protection last night. “The last two days have been great for ACCEL,” says The Anti-Commi Clan, a Galts Gulch founder and Meritocratic Senator. “Galts Gulch, with help from numerous allies, was able to overtake FCS and ADN (as well as TYW) in Airspace, and The Meritocracy took Australia right out from under Carinthe's nose.” ![]() Meritocratic legionnaires Goobledegookistakistan and Hyarmendacil talk strategy in their forward base just within the borders of Warzone Australia. Says Galts Gulch Admiral and ACCEL Secretary of War Shasarazade: “We had the opportunity to take two warzones in the same night, but we were ejected by non-UN delegates. It was very frustrating. “However, everything turned out splendidly. We managed to salvage the situation, and more. This was one of the best weekends, warzone-wise, in recent memory.” A detailed account of The Meritocratic Legion’s victory over The YoungWorld can be found here. ACCEL wishes to thank the following nations for their support in Warzone Airspace: Kriesland, Demotivated Dilberts, Scandinavian Duchies, A Three Legged Dog, Centauriland, 15th Northeast Brigade, HMS Dreadnought, HMS Great Britain, Gamma Inc, The New Duce, Risellia, NeKront, Dilber, Alexisrae, Wendizzle my nizzle, HMS Anson, Sedarva, Phi Kappa, Helvetiklande, UN Beatstick, Father K, Ator People, Novare Res, Alyucha Vadrusov, Poltsamaa, Wohlstand Rote Garde, Karpathopolis, Bixon, Ecthalon, Hersfold, A to Z, Vox Augusti, Equalist Communist, Drunken Irish Folks, Sixguns, Kaiserliche Armee, 1917 Revolutionaries, Teutonic Orden, AJK11, General Andrew Johnson, Deleted One More Time, Kublash, Second Lantisia, Feindsburough, Witch Hunt, Great Bights Mum, Sivartianople, WaffenBrightonburg, HMS Leviathan, Clandestine Sitting, Haor Chall This has been a Galts Gulch News production. |
