Not bad, I also think that Iginla will be dangerous.

I honestly couldn't decide between Iggie and Sakic, but Joe's shown himself to be very consistent. Iggie, I don't know well enough to say. He was awesome in the playoffs and seems fresh. I don't think the performance, or lack of, in this week's exhibition game is any real indication of what will happen when actual games begin, though....ooooh, hot wings!

*orders potato skins to go with the wings*

That Gretsky, he can still make you dream big, can't he?

Yes he sure can... a couple surpise pics though. Like Shane Doan, Kris Draper & Scott Hannen. And look who's missing... Paul Kariya, Mark Recchi, Brad Stuart. Like what the hell. I guess 99 is going for something, those are just a couple I am not sure about.

So ManU have finally put a £20m bid in for Rooney. Does this signal the start of a bidding war between the Reds and the Barcodes, or does Roo really really want to come to Old Trafford like all the signals indicated a few weeks back?

*Dips in and nicks a few skins and wings*
Boy - the last time I had them as good as this was when I was in Guelph.

Kariya? Naw, he was not going to get a place on the team this year. He has not played up to mediocre this year at all. Stuart not on the roster? Now that is a surprise, but then again, that just shows the depth of the Nades.

PC - 20mil? That's 40 mil in American dollars right now. Yeesh! How long's the contract for?

<munch munch> Who's ready for nachos?

They'll probably try and sign him for 5 years, but that £20m is only the opening bid for the contract compensation. Everton want £30m, so we'll see where it finishes between those two. He'll then be on a salary of around £3m a year plus bonuses and media fees. Not too bad for an 18-year-old. They could have me for a week or two at that rate :D

Nachos? scrummy. Any cheetos?

A round of Cheetos on the house!

I can't even say how much that 14yo wunderkind, Freddy Adu makes. Herculeum probably knows. I think that if a profession can generate that much income, that the players should be able to get what is otherwise considered an indecent amount of money. It is the entertainment industry afterall, professional sports. OTOH, the tragic lives of child stars should remind us that moneycan be the root of evil, and that the young players (I'm thinking esp. of the kids from the projects) are very vulnerable. Their parents can sometimes be the worst of the lot of sharks that circle.

Eeeek! How did I get out so deep? *wades back in to shore and grabs a big bag of Cheetos from the bar*

OK - I know MJ and gang were the Dream Team, but when I read the headline, "The Dream is Over" I have to gag. What dream would that be? Certainly no the dream of all those other teams and nations who have been trying to knock us off our Shaq-sized high horses. That ain't dead by any means.

What dream did this US team represent? Dreams of endorsement money? Nahhh....got that covered. A nation turns its lonely eyes to AI? PUh-lease.

I'm really not sure what I meant. Just ranting about Iversons aversion to practice.

However, if AI and his pals had a better attitude towards "practice", maybe they would not have destroyed "our dream". :none:

There, now I'll fit in...

My favorite sports are football (both types) and college basketball. I'll watch playoff baseball and I go to the occasional game, like last night when I got to watch Bonds blast two homers, one that landed about 10 rows behind me, and the other than landed in the bullpen beside me. Very cool experience.

As for a nickname, I don't really have one. Perhaps I should take suggestions?

Uh oh...my apologies to those of you who still have Olympic dreams - for basketball anyway.

*she says cynically as she munches on some celery and hotsauce*

BTW - what did you think of the gymnastics flap over Hamm's gold?

*turns to Ozzy?*

Bonds is amazing and ooooo what teasm do you like?

::edit:: for some reason your name reminds me of Ozymandius

If he only won because the judge forgot to add .10 to the competition, he should give it back. How do you look at it all your life and know that you only got it cause some idiot could not add correctly? I would not want it.

His legacy would live forever and it would do wonders for his career if he gave it back...now everyone will always question him.
