No doubt about it Clemens maybe the greatest pitcher of all time.lol The reason I called Rose the best hitter of all time is just because he dose hold the record. He was more of an after thought. Dimaggio and Williams where the 2 I was thinking of mostly. Ya know if Williams hadn't have spent 4 years fighting wars he may have broken Ruth's record first. When Dimaggio broke his 52 game hitting streak he then went on to hit safley in the next 42 games.means in 94 games that year he hit in 93 of them. |

Meh, one great streak does not an all-time player make. And there should definitely be some pitchers on that list. Walter Johnson, Bob Gibson, Nolan Ryan and Satchel Paige come to mind. |

I agree herc. I was just responding to Christies question. I'd add Cy Young, and maybe a couple of others, will have to think that one over some more. |

Mr Coffee
Actually, Htz3, after Dimaggio's 56 game streak came to an end, he hit in the next 16 games, making it 72 games out of 73 with a hit. Still, very impressive. |

How can Pete Rose not be in the HOF? Sure, he is a creep and a liar, but that does not change what he did between the lines, day in and day out, forever. No one has ever played the game the way he did.....or loved the game more.... |

That's why he bet on it so much Don't get me wrong, he should be in the hall of fame. Yes he did some shady things, but I'm certain that other people in there have as well. |

I don't think Pete should be allowed back into professional baseball, he is not a good influence on the young players. But he was a great player himself, and deserves recognition for his achievements. Gambling is a disease, and it breeds lying and all sorts of other unsavory stuff.

PR will end up in the Hall sooner or later. It won't matter if it is right or wrong it will happen. What gets me is if it was some guy who hit 290 and hit say 500 HR then there wouldn't even be a discussion about it. Why should PR not be subject to the same rules that all other players are? |

I fully agree that Pete Rose should be in the hall of fame, I simply wonder when MLB is going to stop beating around the bush and announce what their policy on the issue will be. Theoretically, he should not be allowed in anything concerning MLB, but they let him on the field for the "10 greatest moments" presentation in the 2002 World Series. But Bud Selig is one of the worst commissioners ever, so we aren't going anywhere while he's around. :glare: And what the heck is going on with the ads for Spider-Man 2 on the field? Is there no shame? |

When his wife (that lucky hussy) leaves the next day to go to the spa, I am gonna move in and change the locks and wait on my ROCKET MAN to come home fromt he game and I am gonna Rocket his world!!! Did you guys see him last nite, 7ip 3 hits 1 run 11 strikeouts. 7-0 BABY!!! He is SICK and I love him!!!!!!!!! BTW, GO RED SOX. WoooHOooooooooo! |

Whatever, hockey season should end in early march. Its too hot to keep the ice frozen right now. Crazy. They should play basketball and hockey at the same time in the same arean, some time between January 14 and February 28. That is enough for a year......... And baseball should all be over before Mid September too, for that matter. They stretch these seasons out too long to make all that advertising money. Where was I,,,oh, Clemens He's an animal :none: I need some
