A larger ice surface would slow skating, therefore promoting more passing. One thing for sure, which would help more than anything else, would be the reduction in physical play. Which will reduce player injury and allow guys like, Mogilny, Sundin, Kariya, Forsberg and Thorton to play full season. That will help bring in some offence. Yes/no? |

That is a good point, I think, Tool. Peter Forsberg is very likely to packup his skates and go home after the season (again and finally.) I wonder how much longer his career might have been but for the intense injuries he's sustained. He's a balls to the wall kind of player. |

Even Canadian and American players can go to Europe, of course its likely to be the lower profile players. |

***dusts off glass** I agree with tool. Things are getting way too physical, what with the whole Bertuzzi situation,, and players are getting tossed around. I think the NhL needs to be stricter. Not just with violence, but with other rules. Anyone remember the whole Brian Berrard situation? Im not saying visors are 100% neccessary, but if the leage fells they are they should enforce it. Im tired of the NHL tiptoeing around all the big issues. |

Save me a seat. I'll wait until tonight's game with the Sharks is over. If the Av's are out, then I am ON that wagon baby! I always hope for a Wings/Avs series. Grrrrr... ::EDIT::Not ready yet, Avs could pull off a coup, they've done it before! Oh, and Selanne is currently sucking in Colorado, after having mildly sucked in SJ. They pulled him and he's *healthy.* :eyes: And Tool, no I don't discount all the Nades, just because I pick SJ. Their discipline wears out the opponents. TB is NOT going to the show - even though they'll go to the conf finals, I'm not sure they could beat PHI or TOR. I'm still looking for a bookie, foolish kid that I am. I have been TERRIBLE at picks this year, but I'll say SJ v PHI SJ in 7 ::EDIT:: This just in...15 year-old sports expert declares that a larger playing surface would slow down the game too much and turn it into soccer on ice and that would suck. |

I see Calgary and SJ Western Final SJ in 6. Tampa will punish PHI, there too old and currently in a very physical series while Tampa is pulling out the dust pan to finish the sweep. They are big, fast, highly talented, have a world class goaltender. There biggest disadvantage is that they will be going into the eastern final without be challenged. |

The two games I saw during the season with Tampa, they did not look very impressive. I figured them to be a flash in the pan in the playoffs. |

After seeing the highlight reel from last night's Leafs game... maybe the Jays should play hockey. No offense to Toronto or anything. |
