naw J, these ones are on the house.

I agree with you as well J. Liverpool has never really held my best graces for some reason. I have too many friends who love them, and I guess i just enjoy seeing them lose :)

Looks like both you guys are a little disappointed then...I was rooting for the English team to put one over on the Italians... :w00t:

And what a game that was...The best final you could have wished for...Liverpool dead and buried by half time then what a turn-a-round...3v3 and extra time and penalties...

I hate penalties and just wich they would play till someone scores but hey...Liverpool make that 5 wins and even get to keep the trophy...Good on em'...

And this Creme de Menthe is good...MMmm

Bugger!..Completely forgot that the Cricket is on today...

*Runs away to check the score...*

England raced to 80-0 after just 11 overs having bowled out Bangladesh for a paltry 108 on day one at Lord's.

Matthew Hoggard overcame an uncertain opening to take 4-42, while the other three seamers also took wickets.

Swing and seam movement unsettled some nervous batsmen from the off, although the tourists did reach 65-2 before collapsing either side of lunch.

But it was much easier for England openers Marcus Trescothick and Andrew Strauss, with little troubling them.

Looks like a walkover to me... :lol2:

Cricket, are you kidding? I tried to follow a India-Pakistan match and didn't understand a word of it. I thinkthe announcers wer drunk, and just saying whatever came to mind.

Drink, you say? Let's start with a bigger size of whatever you're drinking.

As an Aussie living in England I must inform you that in Aus even us girlies know cricket!

It is a sport where the men take 5 days over getting drunk and leave the women to do all the usual stuff, however after a 5 day drinking session we get to use the credit card! :w00t:

It is also defined as a game of eleven a side, of two innings each and a maximum of 5 days, after which Australia have won! :hb:

Throw in the word "wicket" (I think there are two), and stumps and you've now covered everything I've ever known.

Oh, except that getting struck by a baseball hit by a cricket bat hurts. But that's another story.

Thanks for the Lime Coke. Nice place.

OK all silliness aside (as she grabs another drink and a plate of nachos)

What do you all think of corporate sponsorships and endorsements by athletes?

At one time I was pretty surprised to see all kinds of logos on soccer jerseys that had nothing to do with the mascot or the team franchise in the international leagues. In American sports (aka football, baseball and basketball) those Nike swishes and EAS monograms are there for sure, but there is no doubt that the team identity is the most prominent.

I also see athletes becoming more loyal to their sponsors than their teams. Even Little League and youth soccer have corporate logos on team shirts. I'm talking the big corporations and not Joe's Burgers sponsoring a LL team.

Names of stadiums and bowl games have changed to suit the highest bidder. Qualcomm Stadium? Invesco Field? The Tostitos Fiesta Bowl? Fedex Orange Bowl? What next - Depends Adult Diapers Stadium at Old Trafford?

IOW - what is the value of corporate dollars? And what is the value of tradition and how do those two balance?

If it means one of my teams is able to afford a higher priced free agent because of selling out, then fine by me.
