Welcome to Rockers Records. The first thing that is evident as you enter the shop is the vast displays of CDs, Cassettes, and Videos that are displayed in their various musical sections. Once you have selected an item, take it to one of the 12 checkouts, and you will be asked if you want to preview the item. If you do you will be directed to the basement where you will find CD Players, DVD Players and Video players are set up in seperate booths to allow you private listening. At the far end of the basement, there is a section that deals with Vinyl records and anything that is not readily in stock, and be obtained within 24 hours. Have you ever wondered what the next line of a certain song is when discussing it with a colleague, and neither of you can remember, also in the basement are 6 computers that are always logged on to www.lyrics.astraweb.com, all that is required is the name of the song or the artist, and the words of that particular song will be printed for you free of charge. Very soon the first floor of the building is opening, and will feature full recording facilities, so that all you budding crooners can make a demo cd that will hopefully give your career a boost. Please do not hesitate to ask one of our friendly staff if you need any help at all. Our Opening hours are from 8am Monday until 8pm Saturday, and from 10am until 4pm on Sunday. Come in and browse around. |

Would all customers please note that owing to the popularity of the Free Song Words service, we have had to limit this to one free song per customer. A small charge will be levied for any additional songs required. A customer yesterday requested 14 songs - too many. Sorry. Peter |

DWC walks in, trying to remember the last time he was in a decent music store. Starts to flip through the stacks, then asks the passing assistant: "I'm looking for a copy of "The Sky's Gone Out" by Bauhaus, 1980 I think... That and Laibach's 'Let It Be' - much better than the original by those guys from England - what were their names again?? You know, if you're really looking for quality music then Slovenia is where to find it..." Dropping his voice to a whisper... "did that man really just ask for Britney Spears and Michael Jackson??" Looks concerned... |

I don't suppose you would have an old gramaphone player anywhere? of the HMV variety (but minus the jack russel)? Also, I'm looking for an old recording of Prokoviev's Romeo&Juliet, and new recordings of Smashing Pumpkin's Greatest Hits and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. Anything you can do? Fidei |

Hello Everyone. I apologise if anyone has not been given the advice, help and assistance that they were expecting in the last week or so. I have just returned from a short break, and can assure everyone that if standards did seem to drop whist I was away, things will now be back to normal, commencing with a Sale, in which all items in stock are reduced by 25%. I can now exclusively reveal that as a result of their demo record which was made a the Rockers Studios, local rock group Calico are about to sign a very large recording contract with a well known record producer. Lead singer with the group Wally Winker said that if it had not had been for the encouragement they had received from their fans and the Rockers Management, they would still be playing in Clubs and Pubs. You can rest assured that as soon as their record is released you will hear it first at Rockers Records. Peter |

Having now signed their Contract, Calico will play a live concert in the Market Square starting at 7.30pm on the 29th May 2004. It is hoped that as many of their fans will turn up for gig, which is their way of thanking everyone for their support. Copies of their latest CD will be available in the shop from Friday 28th May 2004, and the group will hold a signing session there from 2pm until 8pm the same day. Please come along a give your support to our local band. Peter |
