Dilber, as I said to Big G, I hope you are not leaving the NS world and that whichever region you settle in values your input.

In any case; legally 'the Chosen' should have brought this up to the Council and Grand Assembly for a vote. It could have passed. Instead they've chosen to ignore the law. Minineenee has chosen to ignore the trust that I and the rest of the region put in her as Delegate. She promised, PROMISED, to protect the Constitution - instead she has destroyed it.

The legal course of action is for the Regent, Wickedly Evil People, to take over the Delegacy. The treaty between the West Pacific and the ADN demands you support this. The Dominion does not have legal standing, and cannot be expected to uphold any legal agreements anyway, if this is their first action.

Endorse Wickedly Evil People.

Support freedom.

Punish treachery.

Destroy tyranny.

Thank you for keeping us posted on this. Whereas I personally do not like seeing people fall unless they must, still this whole episode seemed odd from my point of view.

Big-G, it's understandable that this is late. The West Pacific has had its fair share of turmoil of late and we knew you'd fill us in when the dust cleared.

Lanier

*Lanier comes to this forum this time as a journalist, not as part of the Foreign Ministry. See the big PRESS sign on my fedora?*

The South Pacific has historically been one of the closest, if not THE closest, allies that The West Pacific has had. At one point, the Intel services of the two regions came together as a single force. Our readers would like to know: What is the current diplomatic status between the two regions?

PRESS SECRETARY REPORTS

Volume I, Issue 11

"The Eleventh Hour"

By Press Secretary, Freedom and Pride

Issued the twenty-third of November, 2005

Current TWP status report-
nations-6377
members on off-site-487
posts on forum-78,935

Current Prime Minister- Dilber
Current delegate- Eli
Current Chief Justice- Hipposhire

-Firstly, the West Pacific would like to rejoice with the continued spread of democracy worldwide. Its spirit is shown constantly through elections in nations from the USA, to New Zealand, Germany, and now for the first time, to Egypt and Liberia. The region also pays respect to those who have served in wars for freedom around the world this past Veteran's/Remembrance Day, and wishes all a Happy Thanksgiving.
-The Region of The West Pacific recently had its own test for democracy, and passed with flying colors. For their reason, the Delegate Minineenee and Prime Minister Biyah, on the morning of November third, closed the forum and government of the constitution, and set up the West Pacific Dominion. They took some ministers and formed the "Core" of this new force to try to "save" the region and give it a jump in activity. They succeeded in that. As more and more natives logged on that day, the drive to re-establish the constitutional government was formed. When Lanier, the root admin for the forum, logged in and saw his board nearly wiped out in several sections, he restored what he could and the government was re-organizing. To their credit, Biyah and Neenee say a split in the region that they had good intentions for. They resigned and left the region in the hands a trusted West Pacifican, Shasoria, who quickly restored the Constitutional government. in 24 hours, the region had gone through coups, oligarchy, and restoration to freedom. Our democracy proved its strength for it is alive in the hearts and minds of our people.
-As a result of the events of 11/3, a flurry of ideas is hitting the legislature on how to prevent this situation from ever happening again. Everything from oaths of office to specific preventions of martial law is being considered. The Government would like to thank all those that helped us to restore the legal government to the region under our regent and interim delegate, Eli (Wickedly Evil People).
-Many veteran members of the government have resigned as per their part in the "Core." In addition to Biyah and NeeNee, Halmot (Chief Justice), Enegro Montoya (Associate Justice, resigned for cabinet position), ZetaOne (Foreign Minister), Chainik Hocker (Attorney General) and others either have or are planning retirement from governance.
-This has made the Council progress through elections. Delegate elections will be held when we are considered stable enough to hold them, Dilber was elected back to his position of Prime Minister, the following is his confirmed cabinet:
Foreign Minister: Big-G of Neandertron
Communications Minister: Limitless Events
Defense Minister: Shasoria
Attorney General: Berhampore
Deputy Prime Minister: TAO
Director of Intelligence: Enegro Montoya
The new government is excited and prepared to run the region.
-In the judicial arena, Halmont was replaced for Chief Justice by the veteran judicial analyst, Hipposhire. Enegro Montoya's seat has been decided in the Grand Assembly. The nominees were The Shotgun Seat, and Freedom and Pride. The Shotgun Seat won the race. Uncertainty remains over Looming Doom's Associate Justice seat. The Council is looking into postponing delegate elections for a short while and considering if current regent is eligible to run for delegate-nominee.
-Prime Minister Dilber has created, with the consent of the council, a ministry for Culture. Ossie Ostritch was unanimously confirmed to the role of minister. Blackbird was appointed special advisor to the PM for regional security. Additioanlly, the West Pacific News Agency is under construction.
-Nominations and elections are happening for Speaker of the Council.
-Because of the news agency, this could be the last Press Report issued by a Press Secretary for the region. I hope the past 11 reports were helpful and informative and enjoyable to you as they were to write them.
-The region has suffered a tremendous blow and has come back from it with a genuine fighting and free spirit. Thanks to those who helped, and we hope that all goes well in your regions. Thanks to those around the world who fight for freedom daily, and God Bless.

Sincerely,
Freedom and Pride, Press Secretary

*Big-G of Neandertron collapses through the door wearing a suit of armour

sorry for the lack of activity. There were.... happenings beyond my control...

ANYWHO!

Current Debate in Council has centered around the deletion of The Invaders forums by agents of the RLAI. Questions have been tabled by councillors and will be delivered to the RLA before a vote on ending the Blacksheep alliance continues.

Ooomph has been elected Council Speaker and Freedom and Pride has been appointed as the New Speaker of the General Assembly.

Enegro Montoya has resigned from the positon of Intelligence Director and I believe left the region, because of differences he felt he had with the government and the region as a whole.

Happenings in the Court today have been a shock to many. Attorney General Berhampore has filed charges against several members of the WPD "core". Odd as it may seem I suggest reading the PNN article which gives a very good overview of the events if you want to know more.

We do miss them.

TWP is attempting to revamp its internal structure afer the loss of so many key members. TAO is now Prime Minister.

This is a difficult time for the region but change is inevitable in this game. Everyone is welcome to stop by for the latest news ... we may be a little too busy these next few weeks to pop in with any regularity.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and 1st day of Hannukah.

TWP is in the beginning stages of a Constitutional rewrite. The holiday break has slowed progress (which was expected).

My time in NS before this time has always been filled with fun and friends. Right now, the feeling is no longer the same.

I just spent the time reading in the old forum posts from Oct - Dec of 05' and saw the breakdown happening. People that are now at each others throats once laughed and teased each other as I remember it being from before. The very ones complaining on both sides, once agreed with each other. Now it is a war zone.

What you have here is a failure to communicate.

I have decided to no longer be a part of the Council of Nations of the new government, it isn't like it's any honor or job of responsibility, anyone can join and then proceed to discuss the next set of definitions. There's nothing but animosity and back stabbing. I personally don't find that fun.
