PRESS SECRETARY REPORTS "The 8th Planet"
by Press Secretary, Freedom and Pride
The West Pacific regional facts-
Current:(Sixth of July, 2005) TWP regional facts: Prime Minister - Dilber Chief Justice - Halmont Delegate - Minineenee Regent - Biyah Nations in region - 6795
- Firstly, the region would like to extend congratulations to Canada for their day, to the United States of America for Independence Day (229 years), and to the residents of London for getting the Olympics. We send our prayers and support to all those affected by the terrorist attacks on the London public transport network. We also hope that the G8 leaders exit with good proposals.
- Now that the Real Life stuff is over, on to NationStates and regional affairs!
- The Foreign Ministry is great and active as usual, especially considering the typical summer lag that happened in most regions. We are especially elated to see The North Pacific bounce back from the chaos to a new Constitution. We wish them the best. Monte Ozarka is still the Foreign Minister and is continuing the excellence shown in her previous terms.
- The Communications Ministry has a new minister. After Dilber was re-elected (he says this term will be his last), Ossie Ostrich was appointed and confirmed as the new Minicomm. His first act was to define his goals for his term which include a large emphasis on encouraging the numerous new players in the region. The exiting MiniComm BItelands’ last official act was to name TAO as June’s ComnRanger of the Month.
- In RP News Indycar Racing and Cormos both had National Elections. The Neandertron Empire collapsed and threw off the shackles of its Imperial Government, and recent elections have set up its first real democracy. ZetaOne has revealed its new Space Shuttle, as well as a joint mission with Harkinnen to set up a base on the Moon. This has received some flack by other nations in the region including Shasoria, BIteland and Gosstoepia. The region has started up its own Regional Airline called Pacifica based out of The Henry Ford || International Air Center. While the Air service is only Regional at the moment, trips to other Pacific Regions have yet to be ruled out. Finally one of the new nations to the region Lumin Gloriae has been asking for an exchange of ambassadors to help in their entrance into the international community.
- The Defense Ministry recently re-did the rolls of membership and is ensuring that all members are active and accounted for in activity. Big-G of Neandertron is the head of that department. The West Pacific’s Liberation Force has been highly active in the last month with several successful missions against invader organizations. Some of these were the defenses and liberations of Tropical Eden, 0 Beer Drinkers 0, 3 mile Island, Cymru, Oklahoma, Florida, and WWW. Intelligence is nice and secluded, the way it should be, needing no report. We are also proud to announce that due to the increasing size of the WPLF, Beta Section has been created, joining Alpha and Omega Sections. Tentatus leads Beta, and we wish him the best of luck!
- The Attorney General's office has a quiet time as only one case was brought before the court, and it was refused to be heard on grounds of absence of the accuser.
- The Ministries are doing fairly well and currently are active. The real fireworks are in the legislature.
- The Council is currently in the middle of a heated debate about reforming the Grand Assembly. Some wish to maintain the status quo, some wish to separate the two houses, and some wish to do a combination of both. The Grand Assembly has had discussions between rival players and is deciding on who will be the Associate Justice after lengthy and continuing parliamentary procedure debates over the legality of abstentions, their purpose, and their functions and impacts on the voting process and results. Though arguments may get heated form time to time, the success of our living democracy, whose one-year-anniversary we recently celebrated, has made us one of, if not the most, stable feeder in which to live.
- God Bless, enjoy life, and we hope that your region fares well in all it does.
Sincerely, Freedom and Pride Press Secretary of the West Pacific

PRESS SECRETARY REPORTS
Volume I, Issue IX
"information potion number 9"
By Freedom and Pride, Press Secretary of The West Pacific September fifth, 2005 THE WEST PACIFIC
status report-
Nations-6102 members on off-site-624 posts on offsite-73557
old office holders- Prime Minister-Dilber Deputy Prime Minister-TAO Delegate-MiniNeeNee Regent-Biyah
after elections~ PM-Biyah DPM-TAO Delegate-MiniNeenee Regent-Thyatria Speaker of the council-Shasoria -Greetings to all who are reading this and I hope all is going well in your regions. There is a significant time gap between the last report and this one because we were waiting for election season to hit, and boy has it hit. -Before election reports, it is time to report on our flurry of ministry activity. The Foreign Ministry is coming back form the typical summer slump and remains the largest ministry in the region. The Communications ministry has stunned recruiters with our massive and legal SPAM-clearing efforts and education campaign to stop rule violators. It is working greatly. The Deputy Prime Minister has taken it upon himself, with the assistance of the com-rangers, to report all rule-violating recruiters and educate those who innocently violate the rules. We have educated over 30 nations. -In defense, Freedom and Pride retired from a long career commanding the regional guard/auxiliary Corps and handed the Command Staff to Lumin Glorie to lead a changing and more active version of the trainee corps. Now, under Dilber's great leadership, our military is regarded as one of the best defender groups in all of NationStates. Our intelligence agency is also ensuring the security of ourselves, all of our allies, and the defense of those who are invaded. As for legal defenses in the attorney General's office, it has been rather quiet as no real problems have developed.
-In legal news, the Council re-ratified the peace treaty with the Pacific and created a formal alliance with the RLA. Then the discussion about the Grand Assembly took off. In both houses of the regional Parliament, discussions as to the purpose, powers, and responsibilities of the Grand Assembly, the lower house, began and are still in discussion. The GA was recently given the power to sit forever and later the rights to start a constitutional amendment. Recently, and after much heated discussion, it was given the right to eject people from its rolls and make is own rules of order and operating procedure, through constitutional amendments. Now the debate is in the Grand Assembly over what its operating procedures will be.
-Minineenee was elected to her first legal term as delegate, as ZetaOne was impeached prior to her, and she is happy to serve out her first full term. The Prime Minister elections are starting and the three nominees are, Biteland, Big-G of Neandertron, and Biyah, our current regent. We are gearing up for the election to come in days, and the Speaker of the Council election is approaching now. Well...post election...Biyah won. He won by a large margin and is well-respected. His official statement, in part was: "My fellow West Pacificans It is with pride, pleasure and deep sense of honor that I accept the position of Prime Minister. I wish to offer my congratulations to Biteland & Big-G for the good campaigns they ran, respectively. I love it when we all cooperate. Let today be the continuation of our peaceful existence and powerful presence in the NS world!" Other appointments are being made.
-Our role-playing section boomed over the past month and numerous new sections were added and are being developed and built-up as we speak. The culture and life of the West Pacific are going greatly as Biyah has now officially started the West Pacific Radio Station, with live-streaming on the internet. Go on irc to esper.net and #Westpac_radio. It is great fun to listen to and DJ's are wanted.
-We wish you the best of times to you and yours. From The West Pacific, farewell.
Sincerely, Freedom and Pride Press Secretary and Comm-Ranger

Wowser ... this place is dusty. Big-G, did you fire the maid?
Anyways ... TAO was wondering if anyone from TSP will be stopping by TWP anytime soon. We have been leaving the lights on in your embassy in case someone pops in for the weekend or something. And now the electricity bill is very high and needs to be paid.
The last time anyone from TSP was in TWP (officially) was when Karatafasadi Posted: Jun 24 2005, 05:18 AM.
According to TAO's calculations that has been ... a really long time. Too long, in fact. As if no one liked us any more.
As you can see in the 9th update report from TWP, Biyah was elected Prime Minister and Thyatira was selected as Regent. TAO is still TAO and even better than before. Some say TAO is the bestest!
You really should have somebody pop in and say hello to Biyah or something. I will ask Neenee to have some cookies or other treats ready for your visit.
Ciao, TAO

Seguro my burro, CR. Talk about stuff that could KILL you!!! Why not just tell him to buy some Boone's Farm?
Where have all the cultured people gone? A little (Italian) Port, a table of great friends, a good conversation, a few hands of cards, more Port ... ahhhhhhhhh! These are the things that make true men out of ordinary men. MD 20/20 indeed! To such as that, Windex would be better.

On behalf of TWP and our ever-beautiful Queen Minineenee :flw2 ...
Thank you Caer Rialis for the birthdy wishes. It is a real pleasure to see players of a game take a real interest in making a special day for someone even more special by taking the time to offer some acknowledgement. So often we are so busy we don't notice the names at the bottom of our screens. You are a truly a friend of The West Pacific.

PRESS SECRETARY REPORTS Volume I, issue 10 "The Big One-Oh" By Press Secretary Freedom and Pride for the thirteenth of October, 2005 Current TWP status report- nations - 6390 76361 posts on off-site from 399 members Delegate-Minineenee Regent-New Thyatria PM-Biyah -The region over the past month has been fairly quiet except for the continuation of the election cycle. In the realm of Chief Justice, Halmont was unanimously elected and confirmed by the houses of Parliament. As for the associates, Looming Doom won a close race in the Council for his seat and Enegro Montoya topped Freedom and pride for the closest AJ race in Grand Assembly History. -In the realm of foreign affairs, the Minister Monte Ozarka was reappointed but is enduring serious computer tempests. As a result, the FM has taken a beating from increasing inactivity thus prompting Deputy Prime Minister TAO to appoint ZetaOne to fill that office until Monte Ozarka’s return to functionality. As Interim FM, ZetaOne is taking measures to ensure our connectivity to the world as a whole continues. -The CommRangers of the Communications Ministry continue to wage anti-SPAM campaigns in the HQ and the Liberation Forces have participated in several liberations and defensive operations under the current Defense Minister, Dilber. -The radio station is going well. It is the most popular form of fun communication in the feeders, and probably the NS world. An idea is being circulated regarding the creation of a media ministry to supervise the Radio station and a possible future newspaper or news service but it has yet to catch popular support. -Our region lost an important player in the region named Gosstoepia due to infighting that is now under control. The RP section will miss him. -A rekindled idea regarding an official cannon history of the region from creation to present day is being spearheaded by Freedom and Pride. The project is under way, and several nations have already contributed. Hopefully a section of history writing will be done in a month. -Our Grand Assembly has created a special rules committee to complete its rules document and to then submit the rules to the GA for a vote. The Council and Grand Assembly teamed up to form a think-tank to remedy the parliamentary black hole caused by voting abstentions. -Finally, our region wishes to express our deepest sympathies to all the victims of the terrorist strikes over the past month and the awful hurricanes. Several of our number have relatives in the region and we thank everyone on behalf of them for your thoughts and prayers. -On that note, I close by reminding the world of our off-site forum. http://s8.invisionfree.com/The_West_Pacific/index.phpGood day and God bless to you all. Sincerely, Freedom and Pride TWP Press Secretary

Good god, I don't think they even told you.
the constitutional government of The West Pacific has been removed by the Delegate and Prime-minister and several others. They have created a new forum and are enforcing martial law, an endorsement cap of 25%.
I have left TWP so am no longer ambassador to your region.

Big-G
From reading a few of the threads on the West Pacific Dominion's boards, it seems the change took quite a few citizens of the West Pacific by surprise. I hope that whatever region your take yourself to, if you are remaining in the NS world, that said region is wise enough to seek your expertis in so many ways.
