I am sure this is a simple thing to fix and is in no way related to my previous accidental deletion from this forum or the current issue between our two regions. I am confident that this "difficulty" will be corrected quickly.

But if you have a moment ... I would like to know why TAO was previously deleted from this forum.

Thanks Caer.

Now that that is fixed ... why was my original account deleted?

Good Question. I wasn't an admin until 90 days ago so I cannot answer it. I think that would be better asked in the Technical Matters board

PRESS SECRETARY REPORTS

Volume I, Issue VII

"Seventh Heaven"

5/29/05

By Press Secretary, Freedom and Pride

current "The West Pacific" regional Status report:
Number of nations-7496
Current Delegate- Minineenee
Current Regent-Biyah
Current Prime Minister- Dilber
Board membership and post numbers-472 with 58,981 posts (after a purge of inactive members)

-Another election cycle went through since the last report. The PM and council speaker were recently elected. The Council elected Shasoria to be the council speaker. He is nearly famous for his great command of the Grand Assembly. As a result, the council elected him from a fine field of candidates including Shasoria, Freedom and Pride, and Biteland (The incumbent speaker). Shas (as Shasoria is affectionately called) broke with tradition by not appointing a deputy speaker as of yet.

-In the area of the constitution, the Grand Assembly was threatened by the ability of foreign agents to enter the nation and demand secret information. The denunciation act of the NPD covered it temporarily, but Freedom and Pride wanted a constitutional amendment to further secure the government and still grant the people recourse. The GA did not approve of the amendment. The GA also wanted to amend the Constitution by reducing its membership population requirement to 50 million from the existing 100 million. It passed the Grand Assembly, but upon reaching the Council for ratification, Freedom and Pride noticed that it did not meet the 2/3rds majority needed to pass the grand assembly. He pointed it out, and the vote was annulled. Thus, no amendments passed in May.

-Dilber made history by being re-elected to a third term as our Prime Minister. It was a close election though with Dilber winning by three votes against the Communications Minister BIteland. He will sit for another 3 month period. As of the time this report was written he had not named his Cabinet.

-on May 15th, the region awoke to an odd feeling. ZetaOne, our long-time delegate and super-patriot and old-guard member, had apparently gone rouge. The Gosstopain Empire and his puppets and BIteland (the communications minister) were ejected. Dilber and the whole region were shocked. Dilber declared a state of emergency. He banned Zeta from the forums, as the delegate has no powers over the forums for a good reason. A massive internal unendorsement campaign was started and within just a few hours, Minineenee had replaced ZetaOne as delegate, becoming the fourth delegate of the second Republic. Minineenee and the whole region triggered all the mutual defense clauses, which brought the ADN, TITO, and many other organizations to our aide. We formally thank them for their assistance.

-When Zeta returned to the forum, after being impeached, he explained what he did. He was testing the region to see if it could react to a tyrant and rouge dictatorial delegate. The response was given an A. Those ejected nations still are angry for what is seen as an illegal test. That said, ZetaOne appears to be slowly cutting his ties to NationStates and leaving. Despite the "test" his long delegacy will be fondly remembered.

- In News from the Communications Ministry, Freedom and Pride (CR #003) was declared the CommRanger of the month for May for his excellent work within the ministry. As well as this Gavoa was removed as CommRanger 13.

-Finally, The North Pacific was liberated! Pixiedance left, and Stars of Sky became delegate, a nation with international and regional support, even close to home here in TWP. We can assure the World that we support the development of fair democratic government, and a free North Pacific. Freedom remains strong in The West Pacific, and shall continue to endure. We wish you and your region the best.

Sincerely,
The Republic of Freedom and Pride

My apologies for the delay in responding.

Relations will remain as they were. We understand that your government was just as clueless as our during the entire "drill". It is silly to completely break relations over a "drill". Howver, be warned that we may not be so willing to continue relations if a situation like this one occurs again. We do not have the time to be deploying for simply a "drill".

I do hope that this situation will in the long run bring our regions closer together.

Apology accepted. Our response is similarly delayed due to the numerous interruptions of RL. :flw2

I am glad we all agree. :hb:

This statement, however, is completely unnecessary, condescending, and somewhat rude. Don't you agree? In fact, it nearly refutes your previous statement recognizing the surprise nature of Zeta's "temporary madness". And to give a "warning" is rather arrogant. You can be damn sure that we in TWP "do not have the time to be deploying for simply a 'drill'", either. You make it sound as if one day, we in TWP got together and brain-stormed for a way to p1$$ off TSP. Really!

I would also hope the same thing but your reply ... in the tone you have chosen to use ... leads me to believe you lack sincerity, Karatafasadi. Would you please have someone in authority contact me or Dilber regarding the current standing of our regions' relations. Perhaps in our forum ... it's been awhile since a member of TSP has been by for a visit. :shooters

My statement here is just that a statement...nothing meant by it..no attitude to it...Just simply a statement saying...that multiple instances of something is not tolerated...no matter what it is. Yes we understand zeta's "temporary madness" as you call it...I was just stating that repeats of the same thing by anyone...whether its your region or someone elses....is not going to be treated as well next time...My apologies if it sounds rude...that is not the tone meant to be. I was not meaning to be arrogant...however warning seemed to be the best word to use...or rather the only word i could think of too use. It was not meant to be arrogant. And we know you would never purposely anger us for no reason at all.

There is true secerity in my tone...once again I apologize if it sounds different...text is a little tough to show emotion through. I will be on your boards within the next day or so with a full region update, and I will also answer any questions that anyone may have.

((ooc))Also, my apologies if this seems scattered...its late, i'm tired...if anything needs clarification...feel free to ask.((/ooc))

TAO

I was over there last week. Must have missed me.

Now, let me check on this. Are you, the ambassador from an allied region, telling us that our Foreign Affairs Secretary is not good enough to speak with you on the relationship between our regions?

So we simply waste bandwidth calling each other rude. Fine and dandy.

Caer ... I did miss you. But I got your PM tonight (today??) and I replied. I won't hissy-fit and scream foul about being considered simply "the ambassador from an allied region'. Since this is just a game, it doesn't really matter to me personally.

Kara ... My bad! The wording is a bit sharp-edged considering how our regions' relationship has been edgy this past two months. But I must admit your statement ...

is only partly true. I would anger you (collectively) on purpose for a reason. And I have ... to get a conversation going again ... and it worked. Also, dear, I share this hope with you ...

So has this most recent incident also brought our two regions closer together? We are talking again, at least. I still see some bumpy times ahead of us but, if we all are willing to put some "love effort" into this long-lasting friendship, we will come through this the stronger for it. But we have to keep talking.

And we should try to keep MOST of it in the "good talking" category. :salute:

In utmost sincerity,

TAO

I think at a glance at your sig CR just caught the TWP ambassador at large...either that or he's tired. Either way it was a mistake.

hehe i like this...im being a goof here:

At the moment, there is still a drift...yes...In the future...yes I do see our regions becoming closer...and the main cause of silence at this time is simply our lack of ambassadors, and lack of online time on my part....unfortunately i do not have hours everyday to travel to every regions forums...which saddens me...however I do the best that I can...I have recruited more ambassadors which is making my job much easier...so expect to see me around everywhere else more often.

I too would also like to see ALL of the talking on the good talking side...

I'd also like to let everyone know that if they have any questions or comments, that they can either pm or create a thread in the FA forums here for me, and i will do my best to answer as fully as possible.

now if you'll excuse me, im going to pass out in my office for about 12 hours zZzzZZZzzz

OK ... so until someone from TWP can come here on a more permanent basis, I guess you people will have to put up with me.

I am a 47 year old math high school teacher in RL but my real love is history (well ... that and my wife and two teenage children). I am very patient and kind most of the time. Notice I said MOST of the time. I am direct and to the point when I think things need to be done. Because I have two teenage children.

The rest of the time, I hijack threads and have a good time. I will keep my ramblings pretty much confined to this thread, however, since I have so many other things to do in this game.

Oh yeah ... I almost forgot:

Godessness ... hugs and kisses!
