Press Secretary Reports, Volume I Issue VI "The Sixth Baby" by Press Secretary Freedom and Pride on Behalf of the Communications and Foreign Ministries 5/3/2005 The West Pacific Status Update- number of nations- 7689 number of registered on forum-431 number of forum messages-over 56,000 -The past month has been very exciting and action packed. We held another round of elections, and ZetaOne won the delegate nominee election, which by our constitution, means he is automatically the delegate for another three months (this is his second term). He is the fourth actual delegate to serve under the new constitution, but the second to serve from and election as the other two were for emergency purposes. -In judicial elections, Halmont still sits as the Chief Justice and Zeronial and Looming Doom have been elected to the positions of associate Justice. -Ossie Ostrich resigned from the speakership of the Council, allowing Biteland to take the reigns as leader of the Council. The speaker elections are happening at the moment so there may be a change in Speaker soon -The Foreign Ministry remains just plain huge |

Big-G You mentioned that Zeta-One has entered his second term as delegate. Do you all in the West Pacific limit the terms of office for your government officials? |

West Pacific is secure now. Minineenee is acting delegate, Biyah is her regent. ZetaOne is in the process of being impeached. |

We have recieved this message
We had no idea this was a "drill" as ZetaOne calls it until AFTER help was requested. The West pacific had no idea as to what ZetaOne was up to until AFTER help was requested. The only person other than ZetaOne who was aware of the true situation was Biyah and he only informed Dilber of the situation AFTER help was requested. The actions taken by ZetaOne were purely on his own accord and the West Pacific Government and the West Pacific agrees this actions were, as your vice president puts it, reprehensible. we have taken action against him, he has been removed from his position and process for his impeachment is taking place as I speak. The actions of ZetaOne and to a lesser extent Biyah were foolish and they are being punished for there actions. but I again state, to make absolutly clear, The west Pacific government were NOT AWARE of the true situation and the Prime minister felt that the west pacific was in IMEMIDIATE DANGER, he requested help from all our allies to protect us from what a very real fear of LOSING OUR FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY FOREVER. If a similar event was to take place in the south pacific I ask you wether you would act any differently? If Caer Riallis suddenly ejected long standing members of the region with no explanation, would you not ask your allies for help? please put yourself in our shoes before judging our actions. The West Pacific values the longstanding tradition of freindship and our shared ideals with The South Pacific more than you may realise. We see you as insperation for our freedoms and democracy and we would hate to see our freindship jepordised over such a simple misunderstanding as this. |

((Please keep in mind that this is my personal opinion and not that of The government of The South Pacific, or any other members of the region.)) In response, I know that CR would never eject long-standing members without approval of the entire government, and never without proper reasoning. CR is our delegate because we trust in him and his decisions. Our delegate is just as much part of the government as any other secretary is. All decisions are debated. Hypothetically (sp?) If a delegate at any point in time in The South Pacific were to eject a long-standing nation, we would definately ask for immediate assistance. However, we have enough confindence and trust in our delegate and in our governement that if such a test was to happen, that the government officials of our allies would be notified of this. A date would be worked out as to when a proper and suitable time for the test would be. We would never perform such a test, especially when there is a possibility of troops being elsewhere. We would first make sure that the troops had the time to be able to be deployed. I find it rather offensive that a test of this nature, that involved military action, and the lack of notification to allies, even happened. As a resident of The South Pacific, I am appaled that our troops would need to be deployed for a simple test, when they would be better served doing more important things. Now I am sorry if this seems scattered, however I am also appalled that a test of this nature needed to be done. If you need to test your allies, then you shouldn't be allied with them. If you cannot trust that your allies would come to your aid, especially when there is defensive alliance treaty, then you should not be allied with them. As far as I know we have never had to test any of our alliexs, because we trust them. I believe that this region deserves an apology for having to take unnecessary actions. There was no danger at all, no emergency but still we had to respond. It doesn't matter whether the entire government knew about the test or not. We should not have had to take the actions that we did. ((Once again, this is purely my opinion and not that of the Government of the south Pacific, nor that of any other resident of the south Pacific.)) |

yes but WE DID NOT KNOW IT WAS A TEST! the only people who knew it was a test were biyah and ZetaOne and they only told us after we had ask for help and ZetaOne had been removed from power. for all we knew ZetaOne was about to remove everyone and seize power, it has happened before, case in point the north pacific. we are offended too that Zeta carried out this test without telling anyone in TWP and speaking personally if I saw him I would no doubt kick him in the bollocks because he has caused me no end of problems right before me bloody exams. |

The Foreign Ministry Of The West Pacific after disscusion with the Foreign Secretary of The South Pacific, Karatafasadi, wishes to apologize to the entire South Pacific for the trouble, confusion and unintended deception caused by the unwaranted, unilateral behaviour of Former Delegate and Gaurdian of The constitution ZetaOne. We hope that the actions of ZetaOne will not cause any futher problems between our two regions and that the United Democratic Pacifics may continue to benefit both regions for as long as we both believe in the importance of peace, freedom and democracy in our regions. a futher statement from the entire West Pacific government will be forthcoming, if requested. I am seeking an apology from former delegate ZetaOne and will seek action via the court of the West Pacific if such an apology is not forthcoming. Geraint Thomas, The West Pacific Ambassador to The South Pacific. |

On behalf of the the people, nations and government of The West Pacific, in my capacity as Deputy Prime Minister of TWP, I TAO wish to publicly and formally apologize to our wonderful and long-time ally the people, nations and government of The South Pacific for the incident occuring recently in TWP regarding the sophomoric prank by our ex-Delegate ZetaOne. ZetaOne's actions were inexcusable and inappropriate. His actions caused great surprise and angst in TWP and also in the regions of our close friends and allies. We are grateful for any and all assistance that was was provided by members of TSP during the crisis and we are thankful that the ties which bind us as allies are still strong. On a side note ... ZetaOne, as you know has been relieved of all governmental and forum duties. As a private citizen, he cannot be made to respond if he chooses not to respond. |

Yes apart from biyah who didn't tell anyone else, as i stated in my previous posts
Once again i ask you to consider things from our point of view. Caer Riallis suddenly ejects Kloister and Entrance without informing the rest of the cabinet he has however told say tsrill his plans in an AIM a few minutes before. Klioster and Entrance are naturally angry and ask Fudgie, who has just come back from work, to resolve the situation. fearing the worst she activates the UDP alliance and the West Pacific sends in people to help remove Caer from power and replace him. Once Caer is replaced he posts a thread saying he is leaving the game and it was all just a "test". change the names and regions and that is exactly the situation we were in. |

And we understand from your point of view. However, having people ask if our annoyance is simply an ego trip is a slap in the face. We do not take action lightly, and truly thought our allies were in danger. This very easily could have put us in a position of decreased stability, sending out troops unnecessarily. |

The poit is, is that if while our troops were out, there might not have been enough time for them to get back here to resolve any danger that we could have been in. To make things short, it could have cost this region alot sending out troops unnecissarily. Luckily, we did not have a crisis while the troops were out. I think that The West Pacific needs to understand things from our point of view, as we seem to understand yours. |

So the question now remains ... is everyone satisfied with explanations and apologies? IMO we continue to be walking on each other's egg shells. Summarizing ... *We all agree is was a worthless exercise and that ZetaOne acted irresponsibly *We are all grateful that neither TWP or TSP was ever in any "real" trouble *We are all annoyed. Some of the annoyance may even be game related. *The event which caused our primary game annoyance has come and gone and we all hope nothing similar to this ever happens again in either of our two regions. *TAO is once again a registered member of this forum even if I did already forget my d#$% password. The reason for my original deletion is irrelevant and I am a better person today for overcoming my initial anger at being deleted. Anything else we need to add here? |

Bad news: When I tried to post here as TAO a screen popped up saying I didn't have permission to post here. More good news news: I can still post this way as a guest in my own embassy thread. |
