Hmm... I have two DA accounts. Advantages - good feedback, free publicity. Cheap to get an account to make money, and cheaper still to get an account to browse mass quantities of pictures. Also, you meet some good, fun people. Disadvantages - Tend to run into idiots. Anything controversial sparks a religious (none offense intended) confrontation by someone who recites a verse of the bible worse than an atheist might. In short, idiots pretending to have religion backing them and giving us all a bad name are rampant, but the folks with facts are fun. Also, they stereotype like mad. Sometimes, the work you're most proud of goes by unnoticed because a first piece or two sunk. First impressions are absolutely everything (hence two of my accounts thriving, one of them is blown to hell and beyond because it had a poor debut (?). Luckily, my final account was saved by my reputation with my oldest account.) In short, I love it, but you have to make sure the idiots don't get to you. |

Ah yes, well, idiots I've come to expect because of art school. There are a lot of people who throw paint at a canvas (or patch some stuff together in a compy), scream "I'm an artist!" and expect that to be good enough. Combine that tendency in the regular art world with the stupidity that runs rampant on the internet in general, and of course the place is full of trouser weasels. |

I fear they're less tolerable than that. Think all that jam-packed full of more teenage-angst than should even exist in a nation, let alone a single website. But, I guess that's how it is. Teens begging to be noticed, despite a total lack of artistic ability they all manage to get it. Oh, well.

Okay - I just finished an assignment - remaking over a vintage piece of clothing - and I had the hideous 80's dress from hell.... Before shots ... ![]() ![]() ![]() And after I got to it with a seam ripper, a hot iron, scissors and a sewing machine ... ![]() ![]()

I am sure she could make some further alterations and a full 3 piece ensemble would result...
