Christie goes downstairs and looks around.....thinks that she might as well clean the chapel as there are no activities scheduled there this morning. Wonders where the cleaning supplies are, then glances down the hall, noticing a small door at the end marked, appropriately enough "Cleaning Supplies". She approaches the door, sure that the closet is locked and even more sure, for some reason that she will be able to open it. Sure enough, the door swings open at her touch, revealing a small, tidy closet containing a large sink, mop bucket and mop, push cart with all manner of cleaning supplies, and a comfortable looking chair standing alone in the corner. Takes the cart back to the chapel and begins to dust the ornate wooden decor. After a moment, she thinks to herself...."why not?" Leaves the cleaning cart in the chapel, shuts the door, and returns to the Janitors closet, which now, incidentally has a placque reading "Janitor's Closet". She enters the closet, closes the door and sits in the chair. "Here goes nothing", she thinks, and relaxes and closes her eyes. She begins to imagine cleaning the chapel, going through all details quickly but completely. After a couple minutes, she opens her eyes, stands, and walks to the door of the chapel. Upon opening the door, it appears that the entire room has been dusted, cleaned and polished. There is not a speck of dust anywhere. It would have taken Christie hours to do this manually, but according to her watch, it has taken only 4 minutes. She then returns the cleaning cart to the closet, which now has no distinctive markings whatsoever, and decides to see if Mr. Grimm is busy....... |

* In Ebeneezer Rieper's office, the distinguished-looking gentleman Fidei now clearly recognises as Ebeneezer Rieper looks up at her and smiles * Ah there you are. No problem. Just a couple of things I wanted to talk to you about. Firstly, you know the squatter you removed from one of our caskets, did he seem healthy? And secondly, we've taken on another new employee, and I'd like you to meet her. Let's go to the conference room. * Ebeneezer leads Fidei along the corridor and into the conference room. She sees the brass plate inset in the table top at one of the places bears her name * Now, the squatter? |

* Meanwhile, as Christie turns round from the door of the closet she is not completely surprised to find herself almost nose-to-nose with Josiah Grimm, who is sporting a satisfied smile * I see you're settling in perfectly. I'd like you to meet Fidei, and she and Mr Rieper are in the conference room. Shall we join them? |

Oh yes, hello christie, great to meet you! If you need any help just give me a shout! The traveller, he seemed quite healthy, a little undernourrished maybe, but that's to be expected if you live in a cofin for a week i suppose. Any reason I should know about? Fidei |

Hello Fidei, it is nice to meet you . For some reason, I feel as though I already know you, but it is good to put a face with the name. I am looking forward to working with you. Christie then sits down in the chair at her designated spot at the table..... |

* Ebeneezer Rieper and Josiah Grimm take their places at the table * Ebeneezer: My reason for asking about the traveller was that he was in possession of something which should have made him unwell. I suppose something must have protected him from its effects. Anyway, no matter. Josiah: Well, we called this meeting because we wanted everyone to get to know each other, and to get your input on ideas for the business. Ebeneezer: Hopefully you're getting the hang of things, Fidei. I know that Christie has been pretty quick at figuring out how things work round here. I suppose the only thing we haven't done yet is to go and check out how things are at the cemetery, so perhaps we'll take a trip out there tomorrow. Josiah: Now, on to the business. We've been open for a few weeks now, and we seem to be finding it much easier to acquire staff than customers. Obviously there's not very much we can do about the death rate *winks at Christie*, but we can certainly sell funeral plans to people. Does anyone have any ideas for how we can get more people through the doors? |

What, if any advertising do we do? Perhaps we could get the word out that securing these services now for use later could result in a great long term savings due to inflation and loss of income in later life? |

Josiah: Well, currently the extent of our advertising is the sign on the building. Ebeneezer: I don't think people really think there's any reason to come in unless they've suffered a bereavement, though. Perhaps we need to get the word out to people to encourage them to visit before it's too late, as it were. |

Josiah: Excellent idea, Christie. Let's discuss our longer-term plans at our next meeting, but in the meantime I think we can't afford to pass up this opportunity! Christie, can you dash across to the ceremony and invite everyone? The rest of us will stay here and prepare the hospitality suite. |

* Josiah Grimm goes downstairs and sets up some signs and rope barriers directing guests for the Official Post-Awards Party upstairs * * Ebeneezer Rieper leads Fidei down the corridor to two doors, one of which bears a polished brass plaque with the legend "Hospitality Suite" while the other carries a plaque marked "FideiDefensor" * I'll start setting up the party room, but you might want to freshen up and change before the party, Fidei. We'll all need to serve drinks and snacks to the guests as well as mingle a little. You'll find everything you need in your room. |

Enters wearing a black audrey hepburn style dress she found in her room. Good evening Madames and Sirs, welcome to the party, may I get you anything? Drink? Nibbles? Etcetera? Realises that noone has arrived yet, so whips up some of her infamous hors d'oeuvres and the best batch of chocolate brownies in the world. |

* a distinguished-seeming gentleman greets POJ and htz3 enthusiastically * Greetings, gentlemen! Welcome to our party! Please come upstairs to our hospitality suite! * He leads the way upstairs and down a corridor to an open door bearing a brass plaque with the legend "Hospitality Suite". Inside, there is a surprisingly large room, decorated with little South Pacific pennants and blue and black helium-filled balloons. There is a dance floor at one end complete with disco lights, and upbeat music is playing. At the other end are numerous comfortable leather easy chairs and sofas. An extremely well-stocked self-service bar is in one corner, and in another corner is a table laden with attractive snacks, including various hors d'oeuvres and extremely tasty-looking chocolate brownies. A second distinguished-seeming gentleman comes to greet them * Welcome, welcome! Please make yourselves at home! I am Ebeneezer Rieper and this is my partner Josiah Grimm. Can I get you a drink? * Josiah Grimm returns downstairs and looks outside trying to find TOOL a HOO and Dickvandyke * |
