CR, where would I find Bridge of Birds by Barry Hughart?
I'm told it's some bizarre amalgam of fantasy and chinese mythology.

if there is 40k, no tau or necrons, they're too cheap. frickin' rail-guns.  frickin' monoliths
rail guns, pain; Monoliths, cheesy.
I play Dark Eldar . . fast, fragile, but utterly wicked (and the only army where you can legitimately set those half-nekkid slaves on Raiders)

*walks in, looks at MF and Jerry with complete lack of understanding and shrugs*

I really appreciate the extra help Jerry. As a thank you, I'll check out that new gaming store down the street to see if I can arrange an employee discount for us. Sound good?

king j, can you be any more specific? I came up with 1404 hits within books and 67 in the DVD section for "Ice". Not much help, sorry.

The trip away was great and I brought back extra copies of Graham Greene's, Quiet American. If you are ever in Ho Chin Minh City, I'd recommend the Continental Hotel.

Happy birthday Liberal! I hope that you had a great day. Thanks for asking about business. It seems pretty good and I'm certainly glad that I have Jerry around to help out when I'm stuck writing in the back office.

Business could always be a bit better though. Hey htz3, I've been meaning to get back to you about some advertising space in your newspaper. It would be great if we could arrange some sort of barter system. How many books would you want in exchange for different sized ads? I would probably want some help with the layout and design as well. If you are interested, let me know your ideas when you have a chance.

And then I was thinking why just use the alphabet, when numbers are infinite. Janet Evanovich is a marketing genius!

BIRC, Jerry? Gotta minute? I need some help. I have been reading my way through three authors in turn - Janet E's Stephanie Plum, O'Brian's Aubrey/Maturin and anything Dan Brown.

I'm getting bored with Plum, I'm snoozing through O'Brian and I finished Dan Brown. I need something totally different! What do the gurus suggest?

I LOVE JANET and the whole "dysfunctional family" storyline.
She brings each character to life, I feel I know Grandma personally!

They are a great series of fun books to read.
You say....
"Genius"
I agree! :D

Right now I am reading one of Stone Woods Stone Barrington books, I jump all over the place, anything all in a row will drive you to boredom not to mention......CRAZY
But then I have no problem with picking up the next book in the series months later and falling right back into sync with the story.

Greetings. I see that you have one of our birthday gift certificates and it looks like you have made a choice. May I also recommend The Hidden History of the Tibetan Book of the Dead? I hope that you, um, enjoy your gift. Oh, our first 100 customers receive a copy of Jennifer Government. *hands over books*

*turns to Jammer*

Jammer, like any good guru, I need some time to meditate on your problem. Why not check out Fudge's Bachelorette Party to help relieve the boredom and I'll get back to you soon.

Hey folks! Just been resting up at Fidei's new farm market. They have the best hemp hammock-chairs! Ooooo!

Mearns, you are distinguished looking not just seeming. :) Did you by any chance catch the BBC show on Tibet's sacred texts and traditions? Fascinatin' stuff.

Parrrrtay - thanks for a suggestion. I got desperate and actually started reading The Princess Bride again.

Jerry and BIRC - that does not mean I have ended my quest for new stuff to read. I like almost any genre, but I am picky.

*makes the sign for namaste and bows graciously to all*

*smiles a little hesitantly at the distinguished-seeming gentleman*

Um, wedding... no, not yet at least. You see a friend of ours is getting married soon and decided to organize, um, a women's book club to celebrate. So I, um, just dropped off the books at this party, I mean, social gathering and unfortunately, there was this opened bag of confetti that I didn't see.... Sorry, am I talking too much? This must be rather boring. Oh, I just remember that I left one of the boxes of books in the taxi....

*leaves quickly in a less-than-distinguished manner*

*says to the taxi driver* Back to the party, please. *mutters under her breath* Why did I think that I could wait on customers after 1, 2, 5... however many shots? I wonder how Jerry is doing at the bachelor party?

I would love to help you out jammer but after sampling one of every drink LR brought to Fudge's party I am lucky I managed to wander in here at all. In fact I was heading to the coffee shop for a tall black when the sidewalk started to move like waves.

*mumbles to self* I'm too old for all this up all night and day and night and day shit...

Got anything interesting in LARGE print for me to read until I can walk again?

Um, sure. No problem at all to leave some of the ads but do you think that you can do something about those two? Maybe encourage them to drop by Hazel's place and get a room. Thanks! I'd do it myself but I really have to get this finished....

One year has gone by? How did that happen? I thought that this cloning project would only take a few months. My goodness! I hope that no strange animals have taken over the store....

Hey JD! Good to see you. I have to do a quick inventory and I'll get back to you soon about your request.

What are you sitting on? Arrgh! Where did that come from? No animals were harmed in furnishing this store! I'm sorry JD but I'll have to ask you to move to one of the organic cotton covered sofas over there.

Hey Jerry! Jerry! You know where this wombat thing came from? It has to go! And how did all of these books end up on the floor?

Hmmm, take a year off and the whole place falls apart! I'd better start that inventory soon.

*sets up toppled bookcase and sets to work checking stock*

What? What? Sorry boss, I just took a month-long vacation in the stratosphere, and you know, it's really hard to hold your breath. Let me help you with those shelves.

He gets his sorry butt to work, then stops, stooping to pick up and dust off a book

Hey, boss, when did we get this first edition of the Necronomicon?
