Hi Tsrill, I'm sorry to say that earlier editions of his short stories are hard to find but if you are willing to wait until July the Best Science Fiction Stories by H.G. Wells will be available then. I'm always amazed at the vast quantity of Stephen King's work. I started with Christine in the early 80's and ended with Misery or Bare Bones in the late 80's but haven't picked up anything of his since then. I guess that marks the time I moved from a small town, where there was nothing to do but read, to the "big" city for university and found tons of other things to keep me occupied... ![]() Well Fedei, I think that this is the first request for the all-ages section! You will find Coraline over there *points to the left of the staircase on the second floor.* I think that Jerry mentioned he had some of the Sandman series in his section so you might want to ask him for Endless Nights. We also have many copies Fyodor Dostoevsky's work in the classics section. In addition, there are a large number of biographies written about him if you are interested. And, of course, MF there are plenty of copies of Rainbow Six and Clancy's other novels in the fiction section. I would also recommend Frederick Forsyth. *hands out copies of JG before everyone disperses to the different areas of the store* |

Jerry hears Tom Clancy mentioned and walks over Praetor Kell, Praetor Kell, let me point you to some other authors. Clancy's all right, but you've got to try these. If you like spy fiction, nothing is finer than Len Deighton's work. Try Berlin Game to start out. He really puts Clancy to shame. Now, if you like military fiction, try The Legacy of Heorot by David Niven and Jerry Pournelle. It's sci-fi, but with a great story. You'll love it. You might also appreciate Ralph Peters Red Army. It was a cult classic among the U.S. military in the 1980's. Deals witha limited war in Europe in which the Soviets win. Check it out. |

*wanders in off the street* Wow, 70 degrees yesterday then snow today for my birthday, only in Michigan! Hi Birc 1, I see you been real busy lately, just thought I would stop by and pick up a birthday book, the latest addition to the Women’s Murder Club sounds like a winner to me, so do you have James Patterson's 3rd Degree? Seems like a good day to snuggle up by the fire place with book and read about murder and meyham. |

CR said: I walk over and hand her a copy of One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. Here, this might help take away the jitters. Noooo! Christie, step away from the Seuss book! Just say, "I do not read such blibber-blubber. My eyes are not made of rubber!" BTW, that was just me, bringing you some fruit pie and tea with gingko biloba. Iwas just messin' with ya. Like my new boots? *klop klop klop...* |

*Keyboard clicks and BIRC1 muttering to herself can be heard coming from the back office. Something audible drifts through to the main floor...* Where is the bloody µ key when I need it? Oh, there it is... *alt 0181* I certainly hope that no one minds if I don't get to their requests until Tuesday. This chapter that I want to get sent off is taking up too much of my time. *sigh* *muttering becomes inaudible again* |

*stumbles out of office amazed that two chapters just got sent off by courier* Hi everyone, sorry that you've had to wait a bit. I hope that you were able to find your way around the store to pick up what you wanted. Parrrtay, the 3rd Degree arrived in February so I hope that there were still plenty in stock for your birthday. FD, I'm sorry to say that our normal supplier does not have any copies of Corbenic but I'll check around for you. Slacker, I'm glad that Jerry was able to help with Chronicles 1-10. Happy Birthday Hazel! Please pick out whatever you want. In celebration of finishing two chapters, DWC and I are going to take a small trip within Southeast Asia. Feel free to wander around the store and hunt for things if they aren't immediately available. See you around the 28th. *heads out the door walks in the direction of the travel agent* |

The Gaunt's Ghosts eseries is pretty good, for titles based on games. Abnett tells a good stroy. The Ghosts are a light infantry regiment, so no armor, no artillery, etc. The cast of characters is solid, with some real conflict within the regiment and without. If you like Light Infantry war stories, I would look to Pournelle's Falkenburg's Legion and its sequels, Prince of Mercenaries, Go Tell the Spartans, and Prince of Sparta. Jerry starts thinkng we should add some wargames to the store |

rail guns, pain; Monoliths, cheesy. I play Dark Eldar . . fast, fragile, but utterly wicked (and the only army where you can legitimately set those half-nekkid slaves on Raiders) |
