sorry 'bout that chief.

np MF just was here for back up if you needed some.

Ya know maybe you should be more concerned about who hired them. That is the person I'd be looking for.

* A distinguished-seeming gentleman enters the inn. He sees that Fidei has been injured and goes over and talks quietly with her for a minute before turning to face the assembled company *

I am extremely upset that you have seen fit to injure my defenceless employee. Now, what is the problem here?

*Thanks Hazel for the towel and coffee, begins to pick shards of glass from hand*

D'you always shoot new customers?

Look, I'm not looking to quarrel with anyone, I'm just trying to make a living like everyone else.
A job's a job, I don't ask questions. even if I did know anything, I'm loyal to my employers.

Anyway, next time I'll just leave you in the street Darvin.

"Well, no I kinda like the repeat business, honey", Hazel tells Fidei then carefully picks a piece of glass out of her hair.

*Hazel catches the eye of Britney waitress and tells her to bring out a tray of croissants, scones, biscuits, and rickeys specialty; buttermilk doughnuts.*

*She's worried that Marshall KJ might cause trouble when he hears about the shooting, but he hasn't been seen since the living leisure suit incident and now a pang of worry for him goes through her.*

"Hello Mr. Reiper. Darvin has apparently been attacked in your establishment, perhaps you can tell us?"

*She hands Aura a cup of Irish Breakfast and glances back again at Ebeneezer; a shiver going through her and she wishes she was wearing more than her satin robe.*

Attacked? What was the nature of this attack?

*Hazel steps back nearer to the warmth of the kitchen as Ebeneezer's mysterious presence has brought a chill to the dining room.*

"Attacked in your funeral parlor and brought here by Fidei is all I know. Perhaps Darvin can say more..."

Look playing around and denying things is just peachy. Fact is I was asked to look in to insure the safety of my Praetor and I was knocked unconscious and dragged here. That’s an act of war. If you so much as breathe in my direction, we will hit you so hard you won’t have time to flinch. You have made a very powerful enemy, all three of you.

* the distinguished-seeming gentleman glances to either side in a somewhat obvious and unnecessary check that he is, in fact alone *

Well, next time you faint I'll be sure to leave you where you fall. But as it was in one of our private offices it was a trifle inconvenient for us, which is why we brought you over here. Have you consulted a doctor? It might be wise.

Client? We have not had a client in some days, and in any case I fail to see why someone making funeral arrangements should cause you to see them or us as enemies. No matter. In parting let me repeat my advice that you respect the privacy of others in future.

* The distinguished-seeming gentleman leaves. Or at least, he must have done, as he's no longer there. *

"Congratulations MF! Anything I or my staff can do to help please let me know."

*Smiling at MF, Hazel gets a bandage for Fidei and more Irish Breakfast tea for Aura, then she excuses herself and runs back upstairs to take a bath and get dressed for the day*

*Virgil the ranch foreman finally stirs in his room. Badly hungover he stumbles about half dreaming he heard a gunshot and wishing again he had his revolver...*
