Somewhere inbetween, the truth lies.

Hazel winks at Fudge and on her way over walks by and tweaks the hair of Britney and Janet, who are beginning to make the dashing Darvin slightly uneasy.

Hazel brings Fudge and MF long island ice teas and also has another for Parrrrtay who must clearly be on Hazel's wavelength to know about her legendary long islands blend using diet coke...

She over hears Parrrrtay ask Fudge about a big event and wonders, "Say Fudge I'm curious too, what will you be celebrating? The Dew Drop Inn is yours to use if you wish...

*tries to catch the eye of a a waitress and fails*

Honey - do you know there's a big event coming up for me? Just wondering how we could celebrate?

*finally catches the eye of Hazel, and nods to her*

Another round of the usuals sweetie ...

I dunno, what would you like to do?

Laughs at the joke party has just told at the table. Looks at his hand and see's aces over 8's and folds.

"it was a dead mans hand and I don't play with bad omens even though I'm not real superstious."

Somewhere inbetween, the truth lies.

On SP time Hazel knows the Academy Awards will start soon and switches on the TV.

"Poker, Oscars, long Islands for those that want em and the chance to see another Bjork-like dress who can ask for more <grin> "

"Oh yeah popcorn." She runs to the sparkling kitchen and makes lots of jiffy-pop for everybody.

Edit Oopsies, make that the Screen Actors Guild Awards tonight. :eyes: Oscars are next sunday <blush>

Yeah for some reason I also skipped all of them save for LOTR. One of those years I guess. I do hope LOTR wins, but still it's a pale comparison to the books.

*mutters to self....this deck must be rigged, I haven't got a winning hand all evening!*

I haven't had a winning hand in a week, and I am still waiting to find out if the 3 Stooges beer is available.
Hazel, if not 3 Stooges, how about a fire brewed Stroh's.

Maybe I am the reason you can't get a winning hand?
But then it is not my fault that...

Somewhere inbetween, the truth lies.

Hazel does indeed find Stroh's and brings a cold one to Jacksong who has now finished off an entire case of Anchor Steam. Now she realizes that everyone has been playing cards for a week  and begins to hear faintly in the background the opening strains to The Twilight Zone

Parrrrtay is now unstoppable and is Queen of the quarters. Hazel sends Janet to the bank for more change and Darvin gallantly escorts her there.

With the Twilight zone music still audible Hazel wonders how a week could go by and everyone is still looking good in their clothes.

"Oh well." She says, "I'll wear this outfit every day if it means I don't have to shave my legs." ;)

Jack thanks Hazel for the Stroh's and starts to pick up his cards. The first one is the Jack of Hearts and he thinks about a Dylan tune that so reminds him of this place.

Hazel laughs as she reads through the Dylan song and has to agree with Jacksong about the setting and atmosphere in it.

Darvin and Janet waltz back in dangerously close to one another, and dump a pile of quarters on the table. Parrrtay can barely be seen, surrounded by her wall of poker winnings.

*pokes head over pile of winnings, spots a shot of whiskey, grabs it and downs it *

Hazel the game is getting hot now, Jacksong has a hand full of spades, could I please get another shot of whiskey? How about some peanuts to munch on too?

Good to see Darvin and Janet waltz back in, I was beginning to wonder if them two were ever going to make it back. I would of suggested sending out a search party to find them, but I didn't want to catch them in an.....er....compromising position :P

A hand full of spades, ay, Jacksong? Ok I will give you that one.

*Deals the next hand*

*mumbles to self...
now the cards are dealt
I see just where you stand
I'm holding all the aces
and I have the better hand*

Oh yeah by the way Htz3 did 'The Lord of the Rings Return' take the best picture award? I didn't get to watch it, been busy trying not to lose my winnings to Jacksong.

I guess that is why there are so many beers to choose from. We each have our own particular tastes. I grew up drinking Stroh's, which used to be made here in Detroit. Don't drink it much anymore. These days I prefer a LaBatt's Blue, or an Anchor Steam, although through the years I have enjoyed many different beers, Altes,Gobel, Carling's Black Label, went through a period when I would only drink Heineken or Moose Head. In my travels I have tried local favorites like Iron City in Pittsburgh, or Dixie Beer in New Orleans. I also like Olympia and the original Coors. The only beer I will never pay for is Bud.

Well I lived in Ohio and Stroh's was really popular there so maybe I'm just weird. Many have said that many who are here would probably agree ;) :eyes:

Grr baby, grr.

I can't stand Coors Light, Bud (any kind), Miller Light - it doesn't taste like anything. I like a lot of different stuff: Mostly Ales and Lagers. Some stouts are ok - I'd have to be in the mood for it.

Good site is www.beeradvocate.com

Ultimately though, a glass of Merlot and dark chocolate is pure heaven especially while soaking in the tub. *Ahhh*
