The big question being asked in trade circles this week is what is Aditya Chopra's next. Initially the plan was to direct Dhoom 3 which would have had the casting coup of the century with Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan but reportedly Aamir Khan did not like his role and the same film was expected to go ahead with Shahrukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan. Suddenly this week the industry is abound with rumours that Aditya Chopra has signed Shahrukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Rani Mukherjee and Preity Zinta for his next. There is no confirmation from Yashraj films as yet but an announcement is expected soon.Aditya Chopra first directed the modern day classic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge in 1995 and that film is still running on one show daily at Maratha Mandir cinema in Mumbai. It is the longest running film ever as it completed 638 weeks last Thursday. His second was the hit film Mohabbatein over seven years ago and since then there have been just rumours about what this super successful director would direct next. The industry awaits an official announcement and lets hope it is quick so all rumours can be put to rest. |
