His reviews are too dam long. He's worse than Cyrax9.

I like long, in depth reviews. They're more interesting to read than simply:

That was cool, or That sucked!

The PRC board will be down for a while to clean up the mess of your idiotic spamming. --Ray

A Vision of What Will Be
(NOTE: I do my best to keep as many spoilers out as possible, but sometimes it is impossible. Please be advised.)

Episodes 13 through 16 have proved interesting to say the least. All of the episodes up to this point have proved to be the foundation for packet, which ends one overall story arc and begins a new one. I’m torn on what to do with these four episodes, as it is an almost even split between forgettable distractions and some really good stuff.

STORY/PLOT
The storyline involving Isaka ends in Episode 15 in a big way that caught me off guard not so much by its greatness, but by its abruptness. I know the explanation- Tachibana, who really shows out in these episodes in the action department, was angry over the death of Sayoko (sorry… really an unavoidable spoiler) and that drives him into a fury, but all of this in a single episode? It seems rather too convenient for my tastes. It never really explained how Garren was so far beneath the Peacock Undead in one episode and in the next he was able to not only equal him, he was able to best him. That rather bothered me, but not enough to really get me upset.

Kenzaki’s relationship with Hajime really intrigued me. Only episodes earlier, the two of them had been at each other’s throats and while there is still no love lost between them, it seems that an uneasy alliance might be forming. I must qualify this however by saying that this alliance may be more out of necessity than out of desire, given the events of Episode 16. However, I for one am all for seeing Hajime change gears sometime in the near future, but obviously I can’t tell for sure from here.

The post-Sayoko storyline with Tachibana could either be really good or it could just become really tedious, depending on how long executives drag it out and how they plant the flashbacks.

CHARACTERS
Kenzaki continues to be his usual self, though his relationship with Hajime (i.e. saving his life) was something I really didn’t expect to see. Could we be seeing some *gasp* depth in his character coming sometime in the future? At any rate, I think the pairing of Kenzaki, who loves everyone and wants to protect everyone, and Hajime, who pretty much hates everything and everyone except Amane, could be good for some polarization storylining.

For his part, Hajime is pretty much the same as he has been since the show began- depressed, reclusive, and all-together anti-social. As I said before, he’s got the same personality as almost every other Rider-Monster that we’ve seen. Even his return to Onee-San’s house was boring. But again, I think the pairing of him with Kenzaki could cause some character growth, provided executives don’t decide to have him run off again and go mope in the forest somewhere in self-pity.

Tachibana is still my mainstay for this show. His character has evolved a good deal, but I almost believe he’s evolved too quickly. He’s gone from fatalistic hero to gung-ho commando to pragmatic observer in the span of sixteen episodes! My fondest hope is that sometime soon they’ll nail him down with a personality and stop changing his character so quickly. Character growth is should be gradual- what we’ve got here is character growth on miracle grow.

That brings me to Mutsuki/Kamen Rider Leangle. His entrance actually reminded me of the Wizard of Oz from the movie of the same name: a heck of a lot of special effects leading up to his unveiling, only to show a guy who looks like some he’s got a coffee can on his head. The character of Mutsuki reminds me a lot of Kotarou… I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. As for the discovery of his powers, again, the word “convenience” was blaring in my mind as the Leangle Belt pulled a One Ring on us (a la Lord of the Rings) and moved itself to the person it wanted.

ACTION
I really enjoyed the action in these four episodes, which has really picked up from the last pack I watched. One of the things that I’ve been missing in this series (and in last year’s Kamen Rider 555) was the gigantic explosions of the classic Kamen Rider series. Thankfully, Toei saw fit to bring back the exaggerated special attacks and big explosions in these episodes as both Blade and Garren unleashed what I can only suppose will be their ultimate attacks. The CGI stuff is alright- nothing to write home about, but more interesting than what we have been seeing lately.

Episode 16 really brought all of this to a head. The fight between Kharis and Dragonfly Undead was really good- one of the better fights I’ve seen from the Heisei Rider Series. And I was very happy to see Kharis finally get a kick attack. I may hate his character, but any little thing that he can be given to make him more Rider-esque is a big thumbs up from me.

ANALYSIS
With the death of two main-stay characters from the first fifteen episodes and the introduction of a new one, Kamen Rider Blade has successfully made it through its first story arc in true lack-lust fashion to end in an all-too-abrupt but not all-together unsatisfying end.

Episodes 19-23

So Tachibana must become Kamen Rider Garren again to defeat an old friend who seems to have thrown away his humanity in becoming the "Ultimate Rider"; Kamen Rider Leangle. Luckily, Garren is able to defeat him, but Mutsuki continues to posessed by the evil of the belt, and he steals it back.

Secrets of Hajime's past begin to surface as we find out why he lives in the family's house. Apparently, he found Amane's father in the mountains when he was dying, was intrigued by his last dying wish as the safety of his family. So began Hajime's quest to examine humanity.

As Kamen Rider Chalice, Hajime continues to make us wonder just why he's fighting. But it seems to be that even the Undead fight against each other. When the Eagle Undead appears and says he will fullfill his promise to Chalice, he steals his Change Mantis card, which forces him to reveal his ability to take the form of other captured Undead. Kenzaki also discovers Chalice's spirit card, and the plot thickens.

Meanwhile, Kenzaki and Tachibana try and track down Mutsuki to retrieve the dangerous Leangle belt, and when Tachibana confronts him, they duel. It also seems as though he has the ability with the Remote Tapir card to free Undead from the captured cards.

Tachibana must come to grips with the fact that the Leangle belt is going to continue to find a way to return to Mutsuki and decides to train him to repress the evil Category Ace. With training, Mutsuki is able to begin to supress the evil Undead and conquers his fears to help save others.

Meanwhile, Kenzaki must save Kotarou from being manipulated by the evil Orchid Undead and the Capricorn Undead who are using him as bait to get Kenzaki to surrender his belt. But the Riders come through for Kotarou, and there is an unsettling conflict between him and Hajime. But since Amane is obsessed with Hajime, confronting him seems to be useless.

Things are getting interesting here folks. I'm continuing to love all the character development. Now that Blade has both the Fusion Eagle and Absorb Capricorn cards, his transformation to J Form is only a matter of time.
