Has it truly been six years since this version of Arcadia was founded? How time flies...and it flies even faster when one rarely visits the site any more. With several web site adress changes and shifting real world responsibilities of every admin and member, it has left Arcadia very. very alone. Cyber dust has gathered, web site traffic is nil, and even the spam sock puppet accounts have left well enough alone.

But such things happen. Arcadia was created as an outlet for discussion not allowed on another website, where people familiar with each other could discuss various topics freely. It's a shame that the previous incarnation of this site is unavailable for viewing; it would've added more depth and history to the site, instead of the limited postings seen here. But a website can not survive on a handful of members and past events. New blood has to be injected every now and then to keep topics and view points fresh, and to step in when veteran members simply can't post as much. When new members stop joining, and veteran members gradually fade away, a web site tends to follow suit: It stops...and gradually fades away.

Is Arcadia a lost hope then? Not at all. It still exists in form. It just needs people to give it a function again. And thus it remains open to anyone, for almost any discussion. Whether it's for the veteran posters coming back to an old hang out, or passerbys wanting a ready-made place to discuss topics. My private message (PM) box is still attached to an email account I have had for 10+years now and still actively use. If membership approval or anything else is needed, feel free to shoot me a PM. Thank you for stoping by, whether it's your first time, or you've returned out of curiosityand nostalgia.

Arcadia has been waiting for you.

You dicks... There's a "new" Arcadia and I didn't get the memo? Unbelievable.

I see a dumb post by Cal at Robotech.com, and I see a web address for Arcadi ain his profile. I figure, what the heck? I'll read some of the old posts. Weird...

What's even more bizarre is that I remembered my password...

What was the dumb post at RT.com you are referring to?

That's pretty good, Bam... Nice to see you still have it in you!

You're still a dick for not letting me know you're kicking around in here.

Are we all officers over at Robotech.com now? Can you believe it? I have been dropping lines with CTLesq in the Officers Forums. I guess he should be stateside pretty soon. He's looking forward to a nice steak, a fine bottle of wine, a cigar, and a long letter from Cal professing his love.
One of those things isn't true. Guess which one?

What have you guys been up to?

I actually think it is and I wasn't stirring the pot either. it's a good movie, probably the best Sci Fi I've seen ever.

Eh...to say I've been "kicking around" in Arcadia is a bit generous to the site. I'd poke my head in here every once in a great while to blow the cyber-dust off the forum titles. out in the world, I've been laying low, trying to save some money, and checking week by week to see if I'm laid off or not. Other than that, I've been maintaining I guess.

CTL is indeed back state-side. I believe he arrived back...maybe 2 weeks ago? I've told him his next mission is to revitalize the struggling U.S. economy by spending; whether it's on cigars, fine rum, or women of questionable character.

Heh...The ol' Officer's Lounge. I check in to that forum and RT.com every once in a great while. I even glance into the old War Zone forum, shake my head, and quietly leave.

The latest Star Trek movie was decent. I'm curious to see if they can build on it, or if they'll foul up the franchise yet again.

Well ho-ly shit...how's it going Alpha? It's been a long while! What've you been up to over the years? The last I heard, you were flirting with the idea of joining the military service. Did that happen, or did you go for another option?

Yeah, I'm still with Coke...for now. It's been a frustrating experience as of late. Payroll has been slashed, service to accounts has been reduced, and the current plant manager is using us as a stepping stone to the next position he desires. So he's into cutting costs (and therefore, service) to make things look good short term. But long term, it's going to bite us in the ass. Due to the shitty economy and lousy job market (especially in Michigan), people are buying what ever is easier on their purses/wallets. Our competitors have lowered their prices in response to this. However, Coke has not. Combine the higher prices for Coke products and slashed payroll for service to accounts, and it's a recipe for long-term lost sales and damaged account relations. I forsee even more rough times on the horizon due to these factors, so I'm hoping to be elsewhere by the early fall.

yeah I noticed that you all charge the same price as your competitors for 20 cans per box as opposed to 24, which is a standard case. that's f-ed up.

Bamboozal I know it has been a long time! Over the past several years I have just been working as an financial analyst with a company in Irvine, CA and enjoying time with my wife.

After careful thought I decided against joining the military due to health reasons. Otherwise I am enjoying life.

So what's new with you? Do you still vist Robotech.com?
