:o I'm curious about what you guys say. Personally, I'm all for pen. Although swords are better at scaring people, pens write ideas that change history. :P Even if they fail somehow. And, pens are easier to carry around, without getting arrested or something.

"The pen is mightier than the sword: You can't load a sword in a railgun"

....

Or something like that.

*votes pen*

You can't really trigger emotions with a sword in the way a pen (through writing) is capable of doing so. Pens are also lighter and far more convenient to carry around than swords, which just make people give you funny looks.

Aside from that, did you know that in the Middle Ages a group of schoolchildren stabbed their teacher to death with their pens?

I vote for pen.

It changes history, it's true. My national hero here is José Protasio Rizal Mercado y Alonso Realonda Quintos (Jose Rizal in short) used pen as a weapon from Spanish, who literally corrupting phil. and it did, he waked up all the flip then fights for their freedom.

another one is Hua Mulan, heroine of china, regardless about joining the all-male warriors, she also saved china by writings too.

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, bente, but that is bullcrap. Too much Disney and TV-series, no?

Let me tell you; Hua Mulan is remembered for her filial piety - not for "saving China" and definitely NOT with "writing". Plus, it is still debated whether she was a real person or a just legend. (Of course, she can still be your hero even if she might be fictional, I'm just clarifying.)

I'd vote sword...since, you don't see Bleach characters flying around with pens in their hands...*bricked*

But pens are useful! And they "pwitty-fy" your paper up. Isn't that wonderful?

Oh yez. I can see it now.

Ichigo: "Sorry to keep you wating, Ulquiorra." *holds up pen* "What...the...? What happened to Zangetsu...?"

Ulquiorra: ...*holds up a small, green pen

I say it's the sword. Unrecognizable truth as it is, they're historical and possess truth, love, revenge, hope, etc. They spill blood, start wars, bring honour, save, and more.

Unrecognizable truth? I don't understand. D: That's too vague...

Pens can be considered historical as well... And can pens also symbolize those same virtues? (Through writing, even the darkest of lies can have an impact).

And can't pens also start wars? It's not only through actual fighting where wars can begin (example: Franco-Prussian war, when Bismarck intercepted and edited a telegram to Napoleon. France was PISSED. xD)

@Rialys: *playing devil's advocate* True. But swords also impact people's emotions. It can be through a traumatic experience, like war or turmoil in general... What makes the pen "better", in light of a sword's impact? :o

@Favri: The only other place outside television where I've heard of Mulan was through the ballad. xDD It doesn't mention anything about her writing... :o I wonder where Bente heard of that talent?

Haha, I'm interested in seeing how many literal/abstract responses this thread's getting... xD
