What is your opinion of the Twilight book series?

... Yeah. Inevitable question, no?

Anyways, I've read the entire series, more than once. xD Read Twilight before the fanbase got crazy. I picked it up because the cover looked interesting.

My opinion:
It's not that great of a book series... The plot in the first book barely existed, until the action started picking up near the second half. Bella's boring. The guys love her, but the girls all seem to encompass one stereotypical teenage personality (except Angelina, but she barely does anything important in the entire series). >_> And what does she see in that Edward guy? Besides the fact that he smells great and looks like a porcelain God? D: He stalks Bella, controls Bella, and yet says that he shouldn't be near her for her own safety. I don't understand that - he's backwards. D:

Then, in the second book, Edward FINALLY leaves, but Bella's completely messed up for months afterwords. This Jacob guy reappears from the first book, and they start to develop a HUMAN RELATIONSHIP!!! Until Jacob has the ability to transform into a werewolf. Dangit! Bella never seems to get any human relationships throughout the series, except with her mother and father. But they're obviously not as sparkly as vampires, so... yeah. Bella later goes on this epic quest to save Edward from killing himself.

(I'll get to the other two books later, haha. I'm hungry.)

I didn't like the last book AT ALL. >_> Anti-climaxes are okay, but the book prepared for this epic battle for more than half of the book. Everyone's ready to die, but... the fight is canceled.

I read all the books in the saga, except for Twilight. However, It or was introduced with that book....

My favorite character, however, is Alice because she is cool and can predict the future, even though it sometimes may be wrong.

Alice? I like her because of her personality. xD She sounds like fun to be with, and open enough to be friends with anyone.

Why haven't you read the first book?

I listened to it on an audiobook xD. I didn't like the series, and let's cut it short since I don't feel like angering the creepy fantards.

Twilight? No thanks. I think I read 1.5 books (I forget which one I actually read, but I think it was Twilight. Then the 2nd one I read the beginning and the end of....) But they were horribly dry and I had to force myself through the first one and the second one I gave up and read the ending *is rushing*

I am guilty of first suggesting that Suzu read Twilight.

I've had strange-ish experiences with Twilight. I first read them 'round 6th grade before the serious fangirl hype commenced. Later, when the movie craziness started, I was on the Wikipedia effort and keeping an eye on the Twilight pages because unregistered I.P.s were vandalizing the pages with stuffs like "I LOVE EDWARD" and so on (mostly variations of that). So me and a couple other sane people kept those pages clean (with some admin semiprotection help) through those insane insane insane months.

That Wikipedia experience, strangely enough, is what mostly has shaped my opinion of the Twilight books. O.K., perfect for teen-tween-preteen shallow-brained girls mostly. Not bad literature, but... not worth the hype. The hype ruins the whole thought of "Twilight" for meh.

I haven't touched a Twilighty book since last summer.

Oh yez. That's always a big plus. The delivery in itself was nightmare scary. D: And Jake's gonna wait for... whatever he name is, to grow-up to around his age. .__. I'm still confused on the imprinting business. (Oh, by the way, the baby is loved by EVERYBODY.)

It's been a while since I've read it last, so my memory is a little fuzzy. D:

They were okay, but I didn't understand why everyone was so obsessed with them. I barely liked the characters that much, and the movie wasn't that great. zm My favorite part is when Bella slips on the ice...but that has nothing to do with anything...lolz.

You don't need to do that. That's the kind of stuff I hear from zealous Twilight lovers, when it comes to antis/thoughtful people...

I wonder what Meyer was thinking when she planned to rewrit the series in SPARKLE-ED's PoW. Milking off as much as possible no? I'm rather happy the leak of Midnight Sun made her cancelling it. :o

Ah, the Twilight series. I have no love for it.
1) Bella is a Mary-Sue.
2) Let's be frank, the writing style sucks. The author can't create and sustain suspense. Or interest.
3) The hype seriously killed what little respect I had for the series.
4) How could people have not realised that Jacob was a werewolf when there was the first mention that his family hated the Cullens? The whole werewolf vs vampire thing has been around for donkey's years. Talk about people nowadays not getting out much...
I'd better stop now before the list starts to take over the page...

I didn't read it all, since I couldn't stomach the majority of it. The sparkling vampire crap put me off, and I wasn't too fond of the author's writing style.
