Why in the heck am I a mod?

I'm not a very senior member, I haven't done anything for the forum except post a lot, and I'm practically useless!!

Give me one good reason why I should even be a mod! I don't hate it or anything, but I don't really do anything with it either. It wouldn't be a big diffrence to me if I wasn't one anymore.

I wasn't around when you joined, but you must have helped get the forum get back on track in terms of activity, since you had over 400 posts when I joined.

I was actually talking about this with a friend the other day about having mods/sops/crats who don't do anything without you in mind.

My argument was that the fact that a moderator was a moderator was reason enough that said sysop/mod should step up to the responsibility and do something useful, or the promotion would be in vain. Her argument was that as long as said sysop/mod was not abusing his/her tools or acting immature/stupid, there was no problem.

I admit that I didn't really have TAOW in mind when I was talking about it. Back at Wikipedia, there are backlogs to be cleared, CSDs to check and delete, people to staff DYK, and of course people to guide those unavoidable and ubiquitous long arguments between two angry people. Not to mention that the actual process needed to make a user into a sysop could be controversial itself. There was always lots of work for a sysop.

Sabre, this isn't Wikipedia, and you're not supposed to be around 24-7 watching AFDs with watering eyes and churning brains. I think that you're a considerate, even-minded person with enough experience here to be a mod (as the friend said said, you both have been here about the same time) and that is reason enough for you to be a mod.

Well, that's November the newbie's opinion.

November the newbie who knows more than bluek00pa the newbie... who's been around for more than a year and hasn't really done much posting.

Yeah, I agree with November.

As I've said before, you're a good mod. You've had no reason to use your power, so, it's not a bad thing. And, when it comes to senior members, you're one of the first ones I think of. As, you are a month older than meh XD

Anyways, mods are needed for balance. I really don't see a point in demotion, for, you haven't done anything to break the rules. I would view it as sort of a punishment for something you didn't do.

Then again, it's not my descion to make.
