Ok, I've just finished playing the UK version of Dark Dawn, which is more accuratly translated than the American one is [happens in almost every game. Sorry Americans, but that's what you get for getting games first, along with a lack of the PAL bonus].

There's a lot of minor changes to dialouge [mom to mum], but the most interesting one is when Kraden comments on 'Arcanus' karis says it's because it sounds like the most important suit [there isn't actually a suit called Arcana/Arcanus]. But the UK version has her say it's because he's holding all the cards [Arcana refers to an entire deck]. Interesting eh? [Alex

Oh, those European translators. I actually didn't know they did the job better than the American ones. Learned something today.

It's actually the same translators. Think of it as having two deadlines [one for each region] for a homework essay, and you have to habd the same essay in twice to differant people. You'd be able to spell-check the one that goes in 2nd, because you have more time.

Ooo, that's a good way to look at it.

Also, don't the EU versions of games have the PAL bonus?

EU/UK [the same].
It much easier translating a latin-based language into another latin-based language than it is to do anything else.
