Did you like DD or not?

I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about DD and I just wanted to hear everyone's personal opinion about the game. I personally loved it, everything was awesome except the annoying, evil points of not return *mutter mutter* but anyways I thought it was just the sequel we needed, it answered important questions from the first two games and made it obvious that there are going to be more games in the series. I can see it now, Golden Sun golf spinoffs... :P Dark Dawn also had Sveta and Amiti 'nuff said.

I very much enjoyed the game. Then again I went in knowing that I was paying for more of the same stuff from the first two.

I've only played a bit of it and so far I hate the beginning.

Its like, Oh, we'll save Tyrell, but first we need to put obstacles for Mathew and Karis to make it more challenging and longer for them to save Tyrell! Also we'll make Mathew lead the party after and make him go explore a place he has no idea where he's going, while we've been here numerous amount of times.

WTH? This intro is really pissing me off...

I liked DD, but I found it to be way too easy. Pretty much every boss except the final boss and Dullahan (mind you, he's the first superboss I've found) gave me no trouble, and I found more Djinni than I should've the first time around, lol.

It's still worth playing, though.

I love Dark Dawn. It has entertaining dialogue and I love most of the characters and there are plenty of fun puzzles. The points of no return are a definite flaw though.

I liked it.
Alex was as awesome as ever, but the only times that I ever got a total party kill were against the Ancient Demon, the Star Magician, and Dullahan [all bonus bosses].
Also, the lost forever bits were a dethroning moment of suck.

I got a total party kill against the final boss the first time I fought it... It's a lot harder than the fight before it.
I REALLY want to know what Alex is trying to DO! I can't even imagine what he is trying to do but I kinda hope they make him not the real villain and let me beat up the Wise One instead >:)

It's a very good game. There's no denying it has some deep flaws, but the good outweighs the bad. I found it very enjoyable, and am playing through it for the 2nd time already. It is definitely worthy of the Golden Sun name, and opens up the doors for a new installment in which Camelot can fix Dark Dawn's shortcomings.

If I were to improve Dark Dawn, I'd remove the points of no return, and make it a LOT harder. I'd at LEAST halve all Exp gain, and crank up the HP and Attack of every enemy and boss. I'd definitely make bosses much, MUCH more powerful, and give some of the later ones (coughmountainroccough) two attacks per turn, and add stronger attacks to their repertoire. I mean, look at Blados and Chalis. Spark Shuriken does 50~ damage? SERIOUSLY? It's a joke! But yeah, I love the game, but it'd have been MILES better if it was harder and lacked PoNRs. Although the PoNRs bother me less since I used guides to get every Djinni and Summon, they could still be done away with.

Yeah...I wasn't really happy with the word map in DD...I mean, no Imil, Kalay, Bilibin, Tolbi, Lalivero, Xian, or any other awesome stuff.

I loved it, but while it did have flaws over all it still reminded me so much of Tla and I loved every minute of it. Although I do agreed on the difficulty level, those bosses I was fighting barely even made a dent in my team. No challenge was found until the option bosses, which didn't give me too much trouble.

Dark Dawn is by no stretch a bad game. It's actually very fun and addicting. I think the emotion responses are the best new feature. Gives the game some replayability dialogue-wise.

Example:

First Playthrough
Garet: I'm gonna show you how to use the Move Psynergy.
Matthew: (Happy response) Okey-dokey.

Second Playthrough
Garet: I'm gonna show you how to--
Matthew: (Angry response) WTF ARE YOU DOING YOU SMEGHEAD I KNOW HOW TO CAST MOVE SO GTFO AND LET ME CAST IT ALREADY WE NEED TO GO INTO THE FOREST CUZ TYRELL CRASHED AND HE'S PROBABLY GOT A PAPERCUT OR SOMETHING SO HE THINKS HE'S BLEEDING TO DEATH SO CAN WE GO I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING GOSH.

You can tell I like the emotion response system.

On the other hand, YES IT IS TOO EASY. >.< In TLA, if you ran into Dullahan on accident, you are getting your party wiped out, no questions asked. In Dark Dawn, I ran into Dullahan on accident, with an injured party, and without collecting all the Djinn (dratted points of no return!). I fought him for four hours before giving up and turning my DS off. Seven party members were alive.

I shouldn't be able to revive-spam against the likes of Dullahan. /longpost

Let's not forget the reams of new places that were passed off as "ancient" and yet not even so much as mentioned in either GS1 or 2 despite the fact you explored pretty much all of Weyard by the end of TLA. I mean, yeah, Weyard expanded since the Golden Sun effect, but come on.
