Fellow Texans !!! Ho Ho Ho Texas! It is speechimification time again. This will be the 47th if you are keeping score at home. As we always start off, it is still a pleasure to be Governor of Texas for as long as we have! We truly enjoy the position and all the contact we have with not only Texans but with all the nations around the world. It is really interesting and fun meeting and talking to people all around the world and talking about a diverse variety of subjects both IC as well as IRL. For the first time in a while, the Department of State has gotten a break this Trimester. That gave us all some time to breathe and actually go on a vacation to visit our friends in Canada. A wonderful time was had by all and we look forward to getting back on track by having at least one such outing or hosting per Trimester. The Sec-O-State is quite possibly the busiest man in the Cabinet! The Pharaoh is really on top of the affairs of State. Secretary of WA Affairs Kenny has been incredibly quiet this Trimester. So quiet, we are almost not sure he is even here. However, we are sure he is dedicated to protecting all Texans' national sovereignty and is attempting to get some of it back from those bleeding heart liberals that think the WA knows how to run our nation better than we do. Go get 'em Mr. Secretary! As always, the Secretary of Defense is keeping an ever-vigilant eye on The World ensuring that Texas is safe. He is well known in the defender community and regularly touches bases with all our defender friends and keeps the TDF at the forefront of their minds when help is needed making The World safe and invader-free. The troops went on three classified missions last Trimester. The TDF is always on the ready to deploy at a moment's notice to defend The World! The office of the Lieutenant Governor, as usual, keeps us on track. We had a brief round of recruiting that netted us well over 50 nations after the dust settled. The entire Texas Cabinet is doing a great job and we value them one and all! It is a great pleasure to work with such an affable and capable Cabinet. Texas continues to grow. The average population of a Texas nation is now 9.968 billion citizens (down form the 10.067 billion last Trimester). The decrease is from all the new nations the Texas Immigration Commission brought us this Trimester. We now have 40 nations with more than 20 billion citizens (up from the 35 last Trimester). And, 30 of those nations have more than 25 billion! We now have 6 nations with more than 30 billion. Holy Cow! We are happy to announce that we have about 48 more nations for this Election than last. Once again, we attribute that to the last recruiting effort. Cheers new nations! Texas, as a region, rose from 69th largest last Trimester to 68th this Trimester. Woo, woo. We have a great core. The PuppetMasters are back to consolidating their holdings and are down to 7 regions that larger than us without any Delegate whatsoever, down from 10 last Trimester. Invaders continue to grow their stables and The World population is through the roof - up 23,000+ since this time last Trimester. Texas still has one of the largest, most dynamic communities in all of NationStates! So, what does all this have to do with the office of the Governor of Texas? Well, that tells us that even though sometimes things are sometimes slow around Texas, it is still a fun place that people care about, or care enough about to stick around and see what is next. All the nations who return to Texas after a hiatus from The World are a tribute to that as well (22 returned in the last trimester alone - down 4 from the trimester before that)! That tells us that we have all been doing something right over the years. There are over 20,079 regions (down ~300 from last trimester) in the NationStates world where a nation could reside and we are still quite happy when we see nations choose Texas. We know that is a decision that they decided to make. We look forward to even more growth next Trimester. Seeing new Texans arrive in Texas lets us know that either we are doing something right or that the nations moving here have faith that we may be doing something right. If we have said it once, we have said one hundred times, Texas has the best citizens in all of NationStates! We consider it our job to make Texas The Bestest Region in NationStates® And we mean it. We have been trying to "win" this game for years. We are still trying, but, it is kind of a difficult game to "win" with so few rules. However, the great people that we get to talk to and meet pretty much assures us that we are winning! And that is not just us, that is all of Texas! We just want to let everyone know that we are not solely responsible for this. It is all of the fine nations of Texas that make Texas great! We are simply a facilitator. We could not do a half or even a third of all the great stuff Texas does without the help of many, many of its fine citizens. We wish to take this opportunity to thank all of Texas! We would just like to assure you that we are far from running out of ideas and activities. All our new, as well as our old allies, are coming up with new things. For example, our friends in Wysteria have more activities planned for the next year than you can shake a stick at. As usual, there are inter-regional events in the works as well as the return of the Cross Regional Games in 2017. We always have a lot of fun visiting and competing against our friends and neighbors and sincerely hope more Texans experience these Texcellent activities. We are already looking forward to the next iteration with great anticipation. This last Trimester, Max held another fun Z-Day event and Texas came in 4th for Most Survivors + No Infected and 6th for Most Survivors! Alas, fighting some of those regions with hundreds, even a thousand more nations than Texas is a daunting task. Texas is now the 9th Largest User Created Region in The World by population (up from 12th last Trimester). We look forward to more new stuff in the upcoming months. The beauty of NS is that new nations are always coming and going and they bring with them new stuff. We have had several outstanding new nations who are really keeping the region on their toes. Old nations wake up and hit the ground running! We think they know who they are. Texas is quite a dynamic community. Creating new content always seems to come from out of nowhere. We always look forward to seeing just what happens next and what newcomers are going to do. As we have mentioned in the past, while we are not "technically" nominated, it is our distinct pleasure to wake up every morning and see that we are still "Governor of Texas" through our endorsements! We hope that is indicative that we are still needed. We appreciate each and every Texans' support! We certainly know that this could change at any given time or any given day. Thank you all! We could not do it without you! Always striving to make Texas great! Big Tex Governor of Texas ![]() -------------------- For the bean counters, we trimmed the speech this Trimester by 245 words this time and it is only 1,306 words now. Man, we remember in HS dreading having to write a 500-word paper and we knocked this out in an hour and half complete with research. Sorry TL;DR peeps! Here is your version: ![]() 'Nuff said. ![]() |
