In the immortal words of Homer, Mmmmmm, pie! ![]() 1. Sort of, we are finicky when it comes to pie. 2. Hmmm, maybe we should go since that was not a definitive answer... 3. Apple Pie, followed closely by Fudge Pie. Key Lime and Chocolate Icebox are also way up there. Chess Pie is good too, but that is about it. We did say we were a finicky pie eater. 4. Um, yes ![]() 5. S'alright ![]() 6. Well, good for you!

I'm no cook, so I can't tell ya much about it, other than how wonderful it is. But if you can imagine a lemon chess pie with the lemon replaced by fudge, you'd have the essence. Don't ferget the whipped cream! There's some resemblance to a really good pecan pie minus the nuts and with chocolate added to the fillin, if that helps at all. (It probly don't.)

I need to know what ANY kind of "chess" pie is... lemon OR chocolate.... telling me a chocolate chess pie is just like a lemon chess pie, but with chocolate instead of lemon tells me nothing.

We think Texans may call it "Buttermilk Pie". But we have never tried that - that doesn't sound all that appealing. Basically, it is lots of eggs and lots of sugar, It is kind of a custard pie, but not like frozen custard or pudding, firmer. It is kind of like pecan pie minus the pecans. Kind of. We have never seen it in Texas. And we haven't had one one in probably 30+ years. Maybe AMV can explain it better.

I ate a lot o lemon chess pie when I was a Texan. But it was home-made, and my folks was Texas immigrants, so that may not prove a lot. I never ran into chocolate chess pie till I landed in North Carolina. It helps make up fer how bad their BBQ is. And as fer Greenpoint's comment, crazy talk is my favorite kinda talk, so he shouldn't be too surprised. Vive l'insanité (et le Français mauvaise)! |
