officially issues Congratulations to each and every nation that was elected, that ran, that voted, that viewed these proceedings! These were some great elections as usual! One race was very close, so close it resulted in a tie. This is getting to be a regularly scheduled thing. Last Election it was VP, this Election it is Secretary of World Assembly Affairs. Both Queen Anya & President Hiram will be serving in that role for the upcoming Trimester. The Department of State was uncontested and No Confidence came up a big loser with no votes. As a matter of fact, it is heartening to see No Confidence received no votes in this Election at all. The race for the newly-renamed position of Lieutenant Governor (formerly Vice President) was resolved this quarter with Jmac of Greenspoint coming out as the new LtGov. The Department of Counterbalance is officially closed again. It may reopen in an Election in the future.

The Texas Representative Council race was pretty tame. With the Department of World Assembly Affairs containing two nations, the slate was a little shorter than usual, but we had a tie for the last position, so there will be 13 Representatives this trimester. That is fine. We have one brand-spanking new member in the form of Makem, and two oldtimers are returning to service - El Pat & Germany-Logania. Yay! As usual, the Governor defeated No Confidence, resoundingly, we might add.

Please join us in commending all of Texas for their participation in this quarter's Election! Once again, this Election saw more participation in the many of the quarters in recent years. Perhaps absence makes the heart go fonder and by spacing them out more, there is more interest. The turnout was awesome and a welcome change. It had speeches in most races with the exception of LtGov, who may be onto something considering there was still a winner. There was a some serious drama this quarter over the Secretary of World Assembly Affairs position, but the candidates took the high road while the peanut gallery brought tomatoes. But that is Ok too. Texans are still very much alive, yet older, and are a dynamic bunch even after all these years! Kudos!

For the first time in a long time, we had an Election with a questionable moment. There were concerns of ballot box stuffing, but the Texas Election Commission confirmed the results. It was a nice Election and lots of voters became wealthy (*blushes*).

In this Election, we had two Texas Constitutional actions up for a vote. One Article changes the title of "President" to "Governor" and the other regards Minor Constitutional changes. Both passed handily. Alas, there was no Article on a National Anthem.

Big cheers to all the returning Texas Representative Council members and returning Cabinet members! Farewell to the departing ones, your service is appreciated and we look forward to seeing you once again in the future! Special thanks to all who ran and if you didn't win, we hope you run again in the future.

Overall, this has been great fun and a highlight for all Texans. We look forward to seeing how the new freely-elected Government of Texas will make Texas bigger, better and greater than ever! Cheers to The Great Region of Texas!

[/doHTML] :texasLarge :cheers :cheers :texasLarge

Gracias, y'all! Party hard on me tonight! El Pat is stocked with a fine selection of New Zealand's best wines, Texas's best beers (I'm including Northwest Texas, also known as Colorado, in here), and plenty of lamb, burgers and lamb burgers for all
