![]() It's 3 a.m. and your children are safe and asleep... But there's a phone in the WA Affairs office and it's ringing... Something's happening in the World Assembly... Your vote will decide who answers that call... Whether it's someone who already knows the World Assembly's leaders, knows repeals, someone tested and ready to lead in a dangerous world body... It's 3 a.m. and your children are safe and asleep... Who do you want answering the phone?... First of all, if the WA rings me up at 3 AM I will tell them specifically into which orifice and how deep they may insert their organization. Like many in NS I've always considered the WA and its predecessor to be a superfluous part of the game. One simply joined to vote for your Rep and participate in wars. But with this nomination I've taken the time to look a bit deeper. As I scanned through the WA Guide I discovered something interesting:
This was news to me. This implies those seemingly meaningless passed resolutions that show up in your mail box from time to time actually have an effect, good or ill, on your nation. Those currently on the books appear to be mostly positive unless your goal is to run an evil, despotic gulag. So, rather than just debating proposals on philosophical grounds it might also be useful to consider the game-play consequences as well. I would include this line of reasoning in any analysis I did as Secretary. I might also feel moved to wade into the Rules for Proposals and cobble together a draft of my own. One area of the game that annoys me is the environment. A single concession to industry or development instantly turns your nation into a desolate wasteland and threatens the existence of your national animal. This sucks. Perhaps some kind of green, conservationist, tree-hugging resolution could modify this a bit. It might be worth a try. In any case, win or lose, I will be paying more attention to the WA in the future. And thanks for the consideration... |

Ol' Dixieland has the experience, he's been in the WA(and Old UN) for ages. He's fairly natsov friendly....even though he's a bit fluffy at times. He has authored many resolutions in the past, and is quite familiar with the workings of the general assembly. And most of all he's not afraid to defenestrate idiots! The Evil Skull fully endorses and supports Ol' Dixieland for WA sec'y. To make him feel welcome should he win, I'll even appoint a new representative to give the Evil Skull's view on the WA forum here. A friendly face for Ol' Dixieland.... ![]() Cump

Viejo Austin is inexperienced!![]() Fellow Texans, do we want to elect someone whose only prior experience with the WA is "those telegrams that show up in your mail box from time to time"? Someone who refers to the office as "the Secretary of Something or the Other"? Someone who, by his own admission, would like to pass "some kind of green, conservationist, tree-hugging resolution"? Or do we want a proven leader, someone who's been there, who's fought the good fight, a former member of the National Sovereignty Organization, the author of four UN repeals, who has the endorsement of four previous Texas WA Affairs secretaries*? This election the choice is clear... Ole Dixieland for WA Affairs! *No TV and No Beer, Murray the Evil Skull, El Caminos in Texas, The Rose of Texas |

![]() So, I'm being compared to Obama? And my opponent is aligning himself with the McCain/Clinton attacks on Obama's experience? I'll GLADLY take that comparison, given the results of the recent election. ![]() There is no real power or authority associated with the position of Secretary of WA Affairs other than the ability to analyze and advise concerning pending resolutions. And the only possible impact of these resolutions is, as I have detailed, in their direct, albeit minor effect on individual member nations. I have seen no evidence that I am any less capable or adept at this analysis than my worthy opponent. My opponent's Byzantine associations, arcane affiliations and murky histories aside, I remain a fully competent candidate for the position of Secretary of WA Affairs and welcome an open and frank discussion of the issues... ¡Si Se Puede! |

Hello, my name is Louis Caldwell. I have served this fine region in many varying roles and capacities, including Secretary of State and Vice President. I'm here to tell you that I am voting for Viejo Austin for the post of Secretary of WA Affairs of Texas. I know Viejo Austin to be a fellow of integrity with a high sense of duty to his region. His opponents can defame his name and his experience all they want to, but his record speaks for itself. When you go to the polls, please join me in supporting Texas by voting for Viejo Austin for Secretary of WA Affairs of Texas. Thank you. |

Vote for the candidate with superior experience and understanding of WA law (having written quite a bit of it himself). Stand up for Texas! Stand up for the WA! Stand up for Dixieland! ![]() A terrorist??? Well, one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. But enough of this Rovian, Faux News, ad hominem horsesh*t. If my opponent can argue that he is better qualified, more experienced or somehow innately superior, then let him do so. I can accept that. Otherwise I might be forced to explore the etymology of Iron Felix and the lofty, elevated joys of defenestration... ¡Si Se Puede! |

That is the most stunningly brilliant assessment of the WA that I have ever heard. Folks, I would be remiss in my duties as a loyal Texan and proud member of the TRC if I continued to stand in opposition to the candidacy of Viejo Austin. I thank No TV and No Beer and Murray the evil skull for the confidence they've placed in me, but I must now endorse Viejo Austin for Secretary of WA Affairs. |
