Ladies and Gentlemen: Wow. I'm not sure what to say here. I really don't have a prepared speech (my writers are on strike), so if you don't mind I'll just speak from the heart. This has been one of the slowest quarters on the site as I have ever seen. And no one deserves the blame as much as I. While my extended absence was unexpected, Texas should expect more of a performance from its Vice-President. I know, this is starting to sound like a campaign speech for Richard. It's not. But I'd prefer to be upfront with all of you reading this. Yes, I still want to be Vice-President. Yes, I want to make this region better and pull it out of the doldrums. No, I can't do it alone. It will take you (yes you, the one reading this at your computer), me (whether you re-elect me or not), as well as everyone elected to the Cabinet to work together. As far as specifics go, I really can't tell you what is going to happen in the next quarter. What I can tell you is that this will be a great undertaking, one in which I invite everyone (yes, you too) to join us in. Thank you, and Long Live Texas. Since it appears I'm headed for re-election, first of all I would like to say thank you to those who still have confidence in me. To those who voted no confidence (I understand one person went and voted NC for everyone down the line), please let me know what I can do to, not necessarily restore confidence in me, but to make this a better region. Even if you did vote for me, I want to hear your ideas too. Thank you. |
