Texas Representative Council Per Article X: Texas Representative Council Texas shall freely elect a Regional Council. The purpose of the Council shall include: 1. To mediate any internal disputes that may threaten Regional peace, security or prosperity. 2. The make up of the Council shall include the Cabinet Members of Texas. Additionally, the number of Texas Representative Council seats shall be determined by the number of seats in the Texas Cabinet. To make sure that the majority is made up of TRC members and that there is always an odd number of seats, to prevent ties in voting, the following will occur: a. If there are an even number of seats on the Cabinet, then there shall be five (5) more TRC seats than Cabinet seats. b. If there is an odd number of Cabinet seats, then there shall be four (4) more TRC seats than Cabinet seats. New elections will be held quarterly for Council Members. 3. The Council will adjudicate any internal complaints and will assist in formulating reponses and courses of action in international affairs. 4. The council will preside in matters regarding breaches of the Texas Constitution. 5. Any Alliance approved by the Cabinet will be sent to the TRC for approval. If the vote of the full TRC is against the proposed alliance then the proposed alliance will be declined. 6. The Council shall make no law, nor pass any bills to collect revenue or make expenditures, but only deliberate and vote on resolutions of good will, recognition, and celebration. Additional duties will include welcoming new nations to Texas and being an Official Texas Goodwill Ambassador*. Current Members The Rockin States of Alcatraz 5 The Federation of Darth Kermit The Republic of Enchiladas and Beer The Field Marshall 's Protection of Germany-Logania The Militant Mercantile Alliance of Greenspoint The Democratic States of HForst The Modified Acceleration Engine of HotRodia The Smash Mouth Football Lovers of Insurgent Dixie The Slow Fatal Leaking of Intestinal Fluids The Texas Rebels of Lamberthill The Dominion of Legends Of Lambeau The Confederacies of No Stinking Taxes The Sassy cats of Puss in boot s The Holy Empire of Richard II The Queendom of The Rose of Texas The Democratic Republic of TexanaRed * These are nations that are encouraged to welcome new arrivals to Texas and represent Texas when out in the world. Additionaly, they are responsible for keeping the NationStates board content fresh and current. Texans are free to nominate as many nations as they would like for these positions (within reason). Any Texan can nominate any other Texan who is a resident of Texas as of the date and time of the opening of the Elections (November 25, 2007). Nations are also free to nominate themselves. When it comes time for a vote, all voting Texans (in accordance with Article XII: Texas Elections) will have the ability to vote on 13 (9 Cabinet Members + 4) Texas Representative Council Members. This will be a much smaller than usual election, so this will be a tough vote! Note: Non-Registered Nations can make nominations, when you make you post, use your nation name. If you are making a nomination and are not a registered member, please notify NewTexas via telegram on NationStates to verify your intent. Voting is limited to current Texas nations only! If Big Tex is unable to verify your nomination, it will be deleted. Thank you for your understanding. Also Note: Texas Constitution Article XVIII: All Nominated Nations for a Cabinet position are Automatically Nominated for the Texas Representative Council. This is self-explanatory. Nations nominted for Cabinet positions do not need to be not need to be nominated for The TRC as well. And: There are a number of players who have multiple nations registered in this forum. You know who you are and chances are very high that the Texas Election Commission knows who you are too. It shall be considered "in bad taste" for one puppet to nominate another. Furthermore, and we know this goes without saying since all Texans are honorable, but we humbly request that players with multiple nations refrain from using their puppets to vote multiple times. Additononally, per Article XI: Conditions for Ejection Article 3, this is now a condition for being ejected. Remember, this is just a game for fun after all and stuffing the ballot box takes the fun out of the proceedings. Thank you in advance! Any questions or problems can be telgrammed to NewTexas in NationStates, via Personal Message on this board or by email: NewTexas. Have Fun!

Ok, well since no one else has done it, I would like to formally nominate all of the current (surviving) TRC members - INCLUDING ME OF COURSE - since we are (if I do say so myself - and I do) doing such a fine job. Thank you, thank you...Bribes will be offered once the speeches really begin! Your humble servant, DK |

I would like to nominate the nations of New Glatialov and Eternam for the Texas Representative Council. New Glatialov has been fairly active on the regional message board and he appears to be a fine citizen of this great region! Eternam is a fairly new resident but appears to be settling in very well. He usually posts an opinion on UN resolutions and he occasionally makes other posts on the rmb. |
