It was a bright day, and the sun shone down merrily on the small crowd that was assembled on one of the platforms of the central railway station in Billville. The most important people in the city had gathered: President Bill himself, the general manager of Freibergen Rail, various foreign dignitaries, and even a representative from the Grays Harbor Design Bureau. President Bill checked his watch, and decided it was time. Clearing his throat, he walked up to a microphone standard, and began speaking. A hush fell over the audience.

'Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for coming to Billville's Grand Central Station today. You have been invited here to witness the official deployment of the latest addition to the Freibergen Rail rolling stock. Now, if this was any other piece of equipment, you would not be here. However, this is no ordinary train. With the indispensable cooperation of the Grays Harbor Design Bureau, Freibergen Rail has taken into commission the first ever moving party in Texas. Ladies and gentlemen, on behalf of Freibergen Rail, I an proud to present to you... the Texas Party Train.'

President Bill turned to the general manager of FreiRail, who presented a cushion to him. On it was a silver whistle. President Bill put it to his lips, and blew. Not far from the station, the whistle was answered by another whistle - a steam whistle. Slowly but surely, the sound of an engine became audible, and then the thirteen-carriage Texas Party Train pulled into the station, stopping neatly on the track behind President Bill. The audience applauded, and there were roars of approval. Bill gestured for silence.

'As of tomorrow, the Texas Party Train will go on a tour through all the nations in Texas, bringing joy and merriment everywhere, as well as good barbecues in The Mesquite Barbeque Car! And as a token of our immense gratitude to the Grays Harbor Design Bureau, the first official stop will be in the Crown Colony of Channelview. I would therefore like to invite Lord Greyforth, the Channelview ambassador to Freibergen, and Mr. Jameson, representative of the Grays Harbor Design Bureau, as well as everyone else present, to join me for a special inaugural dinner which has been prepared especially for us in Aunt Clara's Diner. After dinner a tour of the train will be held for those interested; for all others drinks will be served in the Great Praire Lounge. Enjoy!'

Ed Jameson, the CVCC representative of the GHDB would like to thank FreiRail for the invitation to the inaugural trip. Its very fortunate that it is going to the colony, as Mr. Jamesons car broke down and the bureau wouldn't spring for bus fair back, plus he really really wants some of chef "Big Willie"'s ribs!

NEWS FLASH: Texas Party Train arrives in Channelview Crown Colony

After nearly two weeks, the Texas Party Train completed its maiden voyage. Under large media coverage the train pulled to a halt at its official first stop, the grand central station of the Channelview Crown Colony.

'A momentous occasion,' commented Ned Wilkinson, the chief conductor of the Texas Party Train. 'For a first trip it went very well. There were a few customs hiccups at the various borders, and we were behind on the resupplying schedule a number of times, but we're confident that delays like those will be kept at a minimum in the future.'

Ed Jameson, employee at the Grays Harbor Design Bureau and designer of the Texas Party Train, had the rare honour of being one of the first passengers. 'A great ride and an excellent set-up, if I say so myself. This must be one of my greatest designs,' he said.

The Texas Party Train will stay in Channelview for three days' partying, and then resume its never ending Tour of Texas. A spokesperson of FreiRail, the operator of the Texas Party Train, announced that the Militant Mercantile Alliance of Greenspoint would be the next stop. Sources within the Freibergen government added that President Bill himself might be present at this stop, but this remains as yet unconfirmed.

The Band from West Lynchburg High School was playing and the cheerleaders were jumping as the party train pulled into Central Station in downtown Channelview. The Mayor, Mr Henry Underwood, was there, along with his staff along with representatives of the Royal and Colonial governments, including the Grays Harbor ambassador to Greenspoint who had come in on the Greenspoint HS rail to greet them. The crowds were rather large, especially given that it was a weekday, but it seemed that everybody wanted a glance at the new train. Several grade school classes could be seen gathered together with their teachers frantically trying to ride herd on them. And as usual, there were the multitude of hawkers selling souvenirs of every kind and style, from coffee beakers to t-shirts and caps and postcards, even some of those snow globes. All were doing a brisk business. The dignitaries assembled to pass out the traditional "Keys to the City" to the trains crew, and special plaques for the Engineer, Mr Ted Forrest, and the Chief Conductor, Mr Ned Wilkenson. Then the party REALLY got started!
