Here are a couple of alternate views on the same data that we have been considering. We call them Main, Main2, Main3 and Main4 The 3 new ones all differ from the current view in that all the Government Information is moved from the right side of the map toright underneath the map. Main2 has the same font sizes and the text below the map is sized to the width of the window versus the width of the map. You will see what we mean on other maps. Samples of Main2: http://site250.webhost4life.com/newtexas/m...e=furry_felines http://site250.webhost4life.com/newtexas/m...tionName=rixtex http://site250.webhost4life.com/newtexas/m...ame=greenspoint Main3 has smaller fonts. Once again the Government Information has been moved to beneath the map. The text extends to the end of the width of the map versus the width of the window size. Samples of Main3: http://site250.webhost4life.com/newtexas/m...e=furry_felines http://site250.webhost4life.com/newtexas/m...tionName=rixtex http://site250.webhost4life.com/newtexas/m...ame=greenspoint Main4 also has smaller fonts. Yet again the Government Information has been moved to beneath the map. This time the text only extends to the width of the window size versus the width of the window map. Samples of Main4: Note: There is no more main4, it is the live "main" now. If anyone wants to see how their particular map would look in the "new" scheme, then they can simply change the URL in the address bar to read main2, main3 or main4 instead of just main (leave the rest) and press enter. These are just some proposed versions. If anyone has suggestions, let us know and we will consider it. |

The links to the new samples aren't working for me. It just keeps saying it's waiting on the host... |

Hmmm, They seem to work for me Jmac... Anyways, I quite fancy Main4 if we change it at all, it looks tidier in my honest opinion. |

The response has been somewhat underwhelming. So we assume people do not really care one way or another. So, we are going to put a deadline on this for a week from today - Wednesday March 2, 2005. At the rate it going as of this post, we wll be going with:
But you have another week to weigh in. Who knows, we may do it again in a couple of more weeks. Personally, we really prefer the National Information below the map versus to the right side of the map.

We have changed the main display of the national maps on tier 3. The data is now all under the map and nothing is on the right. |
