With a new found lease of life, Pablicostan Government is in for big changes for the whole nation. Here's a run down of the changes.

Government

Plans have been enacted to clean up the whole system, and to introduce a third house. At present the Government of Pablicosta consists of The President and The 1st House of Speakers. By Introducing this third house Pablicosta's Governmental descisions are intended to be formed on more of a democratic basis. The Third House is to be named the 1st Elected House, comprising of 10 members, 2 for every Region of the nation. Within thiss house will be a sub-house, the 2nd Elected House, comprising initially of 30 members. The 30 members will serve as a pool of information, each being elected by individual Towns and Cities, to report to the 1st House representative of the area. For example, the 2nd House member for Rochester would poll Government action in Rochester, as would the 2nd House member for London City and Buckingham. The three should report to the 1st House member for The New England region, who in turn takes the news to the 1st House members for discussion. The 1st House of Speakers will have their purpose changed to assisting the President, instead of passing laws. They will from now on discuss with the President whether to issue a proposal to the Elected Houses.

Currency

The currency of Pablicosta will change! The P$ will be thrown out in favour of the new Reté ®. .75P$ will be equivelent to 1 ®. The old currency will still be accepted for 2 weeks, but will no longer be issued. A complicated system for shop keepers will take place, as they will receive money in P$, but may only issue ® change. The full change over is hoped to only take 1 week.

After Review, the new Houses have decided to put the currency shange on hold for the time being.

Military

The ground forces of Pablicosta, will be vastly reduced to a minimum. Funding will be lowered to a maintenance level, with no more units being built, oustside the missile sector. The Air Force will be revamped over the next 5 years, introducing the New X7 Mk II series as the primary unit. The entire X7 series is faster than any plane ever used by the PMS, or any they have entered combat against. The sister series of the X7's, the JJ52* Bomber group, are also being introduced as the primary long range heavy bomber. This will be the only attack only unit, and will be built in small numbers. The rest of the air force will be primarily defence, as with the Navy which will have no more units built.

Good luck with the re-org, Pabli.

Hope your military build-down works the way you plan. You know what happens whenever nations try to lower their defense budgets... "Peace in our time" and all that.

Best regards,
