I have noticed that I PAX am getting an unfair proportion of the credit for this fine map project (I thank you of course ) BUT it really was a joint effort, between lots of us, and without a couple of us the project would still have gone ahead, maybe delayed but it would still have happened, Big PAX shout out to you guys as well .Without Big Tex however it would never have got off the ground at all, The maps are just the tip of the iceberg, what you dont however see is the work that is going on beneath the surface, which is where Big Tex is beavering away like mad, I have seen the amount of time and effort and $'s he has contributed to this project and so I wish to state here... Big Tex your awesome dude and you have my thanks, excellent work big feller.Feel free to add your thanks in this thread to the big feller as well (Not too much though )

I understand from one of Big Tex's posts that a lot of the map drawing was undertaken by Mr. Phineas O'Neill, the Heartland's Chief Cartographer. I'd like to add props, kudos, shouts out and all that to him as well as to Big Tex and Pax. Great Job guys!

Definately a very nice job by everyone involved. I'm don't have the words to describe such an effort (if you haven't noticed I'm not a writer ). I'll try to be more creative in the future."So, they have the internet on computers now" ~ Homer Simpson |

This is a right and fitting time for such expressions. Thanks for suggesting it, Pax. The region (never mind the mapping project) wouldn't be here, at least not in its current healthy state, if not for the efforts of Big Tex. With the exception of a couple of "What is the Best Thing About Big Tex?" threads from Nathan Casey (don't ask), and a teeth-cleaning in a Founder Appreciation thread that shared booth-space with an election celebration, he doesn't get a whole lot of formal thanks for his work. So here's ours: Thanks, Big Tex!! |

Indeed. I will make that motion in the TRC to do just that. Gee, Founder's Day, Big Tex Day. Hope the Big Guy doesn't get a swell head. I can tell you one thing. he deserves every bit of praise he ever gets. Texas would just not be Texas without Big Tex. My only question, Brickyard, is why March 1? |

Being new to Texas, but looking through the forums and the region...I can only say that Big Tex truly is a GIANT in all senses of the word. Domo Arrigato Big Tex-sama. A traditionally kimonoed and attended Geisha bows deeply, then takes a delicate porcelain bottle of properly warmed saki and offers it to Big Tex

Oh, but wait, Pax. March 2 is RL Texas Independence Day. Can't have our abuse of Big Tex mar that sacred commemoration. Abuse Big Tex Day will just have to be March 3. |

Dweezil:
I agree completely. Texas would almost certainly have either died off long ago or be on life support if not for Big Tex. Most regions (at least to my knowledge) die off never to be revived again. And, on that note, considering Big Tex's recent trip to the hospital, I recommend that we all send him get well and thank you cards at the same time. And, Dweezil, you'll never let Nathan Casey go. I can't blame you though since I feel the same way. |
