In my scribe's best attempt to recreate the Monty Python Quizzical Post from the Regional Message Board:

1. In what order did Arthur chop off the black knight's limbs? (arms & legs)

2. Who was supposed to jump out of the wooden rabbit?

3. What does the 'L' on the banner hanging in Swamp Castle stand for?

4. How many Mexican whooping llamas were there?

5. What is the air-speed velocity of a coconut-laden swallow?

(Make corrections, please! Those whose memories are better than dear Iohannus!)

From El Pat:

Quote:

"What happens now?"
"Now, Launcelot, Gallahad, and I will wait until it gets dak and take the castle by surprise?
"Who?"
"Uh...Launcelot, Galahad...and I...well, if we built a giant wooden badger..."

That's the one I answered, love the quiz! Pres. Bill (I think) answered the swallow question:)

But, Pat, the key question is. . . . Who is *I*?

President Bill's addition:

In the spirit of Dame Viv's Holy Grail quiz, answer me this:

1. Who claimed he was being repressed? And by whom?

2. What did Arthur have to cut down the largest tree in the forest with? On whose order? Why did he refuse?

3. The bones of how many men lay strewn about the lair of the rabbit? What was the number one has to count to before lobbing the holy hand grenade at one's foe?

4. How many castles did Herbert's father build? How much did his guards cost per piece? How many wedding guests were killed?

5. Doesn't President Bill have better things to do than write gratuitous quizzes?

Have fun. :)

And the ensuing responses:

The Righteous Realm of AbFab:
Quote:

1. Dennis. Specifically by Arthur, generally by the system.
I'll leave the rest for someone else. Bill, you and Viv should post something offsite. Some of these are rather difficult. :)

Yes, certainly, will post.

The Militant Mercantile Alliance of Greenspoint
Quote:

2. A Herring, by the knights who formerly said "NI!", because "it can't be done"

The Ironic Pit of Big Long Now
Quote:

3. Pants

Um, er, Bill, help? I say, partial credit.....

5. Obviously not, but we still like you anyway ;)

Who are you who are so wise in the ways of science?

The Righteous Realm of AbFab

I've got a challenge! Without looking it up on the internet or on the movie or any other resource, what is the new name of the knights who until so recently said "NI!"? Yes, I will be checking spelling.  :p

Let me go fetch Iohannus for this one, he might accidentally deviate into sense

President Bill:
Quote:

That's impossible, Yvonne. :)

The Knights Who Say Ecky Ecky Ecky Ecky Ecky Ze Pong Nu Wom? Hey, you can't blame me for trying. :)

I know there's a pa-kaaaangggg in there somewhere, mayhaps between the Ecky's and the Ze? I'd like to see further attempts at that one. . . . :diablo

Sorry this is so unwieldy to read.....

I'm going to try this from memory:

1. His (Black Knight's) right arm.

2. Left arm.

3. Left leg.

4. Right leg.

The L stood for the name of the princess Herbert was supposed to marry; I believe her name was Looky or something. She certainly wasn't the looker. :)

Another question. What rhetorics did Dennis use to undermine and ridicule Arthur's alleged executive mandate? And I want it in the right order. :)

Oops. Sorry! Sorry. :)

Well, a replacement question for El Pat, then. A simple one: Why do witches burn?

Bill, what do you mean by "rhetorics"? Do you mean his statements like "Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony" or that Arthur can't be a king just because some water tart threw a sword at him? Or that Dennis wouldn't go around calling himself emperor just because some moistened bint lobbed a scimitar at him?

:p

Good show, y'all.........

Technical note: sometimes the music-playing thing shows up on my screen, sometimes it doesn't... BUT if I refresh my page, it shows up again. Wouldn't want anyone to miss out on the music!

Viv, not to worry, I answered Sir Bedevere on my original reply on the NS messageboard :cowboy

To answer Secr. Pres. Bill's question, the following:
Bedevere: And what floats on water?
Peasants: Wood! Cider! Bridges! Really small rocks! Churches!
Arthur: A duck!
Peasants: <gasp>
Bedevere: Correct! And therefore...
Peasant (played by Eric Idle, I think): If she weighs as much as a duck...then she's made of wood...
Bedevere: And therefore...
Peasant: A witch!!!

Witches burn because they are made of wood, which can be determined by measuring the accused's weight against that of a duck. Now if only we could get Bedevere to stop tying coconuts to swallows...

Chief Pilot "They Call Me...Tim" Pat :p

Well, u-- um, can we come up and have a look?

And just as a note to any who are as ignorant as I was until recently, there are two other Monty Python movies (as well as Flying Circus) that are worth watching. The Meaning of Life is probably is probably my favorite Monty Python movie overall .... :D

It's too easy to guess which character goes with which answer, though! $5 says all the ones related to science result in being Sir Bedevere. :)
