Pres. Bill, I can honestly say I don't know much about British political parties. However, I like the word liberal so that's who I'd choose :p Well, if I was over there I'd look at the parties and stuff and decide which is best aligned with my interests and vote like that. Which probably means I'd be voting for The Official Monster Raving Looney Party :angel "Vote for Insanity, You Know It Makes Sense!"

A missionary to Britain said she thinks Blair is a Christian. My British grandfather doesn't like him. I might as well vote Conservative. :p

What is the current state of affairs between the liberal democrats and the new labour party?

My understanding is that they've taken different directions. That Tony Blair has removed some of the socialist issues from the platform and sort of marginalized the liberal democrats.

All we know (and care about) is that New Labour is third which means they are last in the 3 major British parties. Conservatives are second, I think and Lib Dems are 1st. Although I think it is a tough competition in countys between lib dems and conservatives.

Vote Lib Dems because they watn to abolish tutition fees, which is great for university students. Also they want to keep school buses free for kids who have to travel 3-5 miles from their school.

Keep the Lib Dem votes coming in.

Not knowing the British political system as well as we should, we have found President Tony Blair's support of President Bush's policies a welcome relief in this time of worldwide America-bashing. For this reason, we have endorsed his New Labour party. We also find his right-wing conservative stance to be closer to our personal political preferences. Texans' political preferences can be viewed on this thread: Political Spectrum Quiz, Which way do you swing?

From what little bit of Parliament I've seen on C-SPAN, Blair seems to have good balance of conservatism and liberalism, so I'd vote for him. But I'm not British so what do I know..

I second Big Tex's analysis. Blair has supported the U.S. More importantly to the Brits, the U.K. has prospered. He's also has a good personality, which I think is important.

I like him, so I'd vote for him.

BTW, thanks for asking. I think it's good that we get an opinion on someone elses elections, as the rest of the world certainly has an opinion on ours.

I'll get one up about Dutch elections as soon as possible; ample choice in that one.

Why, this is like the real elections in Britain that happened a bit a go (not the general elections) except Labour and the Tories are the wrong way around.

Also I think more people should create a "who would you vote for" on their country.

Most people here are either from the US or the UK, and for both there's a "Who would you vote for" already. Maybe a Canadian one? :)

Oi I resent that "Pfft, Canada" remark. Just because they're in the commonwealth (the best semi alliance) and the US is not.

Also where is the American one.

Oi I resent that "Pfft, Canada" remark.

You do? really? Are you Canadian or just overly sensitive?

It was intended as a joke, I got nothing against Canada at all... :) I have, however, spoken to several Canadians that have problems with the US. But that's neither here nor there.

No I'm not Canadian, I'm British. Also Canada is not the only country that's got problems with the US. An example of another is: France. Remeber their complete Veto with the war on Iraq. We also believe they have a problem that stretchs back to WW2 with Britain.
