Rachel French-"Hello, this is PNNC broadcasting across Pablicosta and the Region of Texas on Channel 7. It has been reported in the last few minutes that the Minister for ratial Equality in Pablicosta has been shot at whilst shopping in Pheonix City Center. We cross over now for the latest from the scene with Kris Jones. Kris?"

Kris Jones-"Yes thankyou Rachel, I'm here outside this branch of Harley Davidson Motrcycle Retail, which is the closest to the scene as police are allowing us to get. It was as the Minister for Ratial Equality Simon Smith left the Fenicks Shop carrying a newly aquired suitcase that he was struck by bullets from an anymous gunman. The Minister who was without his usual protection for this shopping trip was saved from receiving a fatal bullet as he lay on the ground when two Security guards from the store drew their regular pistols and fired into the air, apperently scaring the gunman from the scene. The whole area is now flooded with armed police officers and CSI detectives, but we have managed to pull Detective John Cummings from the scene to talk to us. Detective Cummings, can you give us a brief overview of what you think happened here?"

Detective John Cummings-"Well Kris, from the early evidence that we have gathered it appears that the Minister was with a regular 9mm weapon which citizens in the Pheonix area are entitled to carry by State Law. The first examination done on the Minister on the scene showed that he was struck seven times, although none of the hits are believed to have been fatal. When the security guards from the store entrance where the Minister had fallen fired their weapons the gunman appears to have fled the scene, taking the weapon with him."

Kris Jones-"Thank you Officer, now, have you any idea where the bullets were fired from?"

Detective John Cummings-"At this early stage in the investigation we have no confirmed idea where the bullets were fired from, although we do have three areas which are under investigation".

Kris Jones-"Can you tell us where these positions are Detective?"

Detective John Cummings-"I'm sorry Kris, I'm going to have to stop this here, I do need to get back to the job"

Kris Jones-"Okay Detective, Thanks for your time. Well thats that, Detective John Cummings tells us that the Minister for Racial equality has been shot seven times whilst leaving the Phenix City Center branch of Fenniks. However, none of the wounds are believed to be fatal at this point. Rachel?"

Rachel French-"Thanks Kris, we hope to join you again later for more news on this story. Well thats all from PCCN at 12 noon, we'll be back with the new, when we have it. Over to Julie Sanders for a look at the weather"

Rachel French-"Hello, this is PNNC broadcasting direct to you across Pablicosta and the Region of Texas from Pheonix City, on Channel 7. The headlines today.

:cowboys Car theft problem on the rise again, says Minister for Criminal Controll David Right.
:cowboys Protest in Moleneux for Poltical Rights action.
:cowboys Sir Reginald Sprocket, 137, has died in hospital. He was the oldest living Veteran of the Five Trench War.
:cowboys Terrorism threat not real, says Vice President John Grimshaw.
:cowboys And Timlington City Bridge collapses, killing 43 people.

But First, a look at what the weather has in store for us this week with Carrol Anne Wuseter".

Carrol Anne Wuseter-"Thanks Rachel. Well it looks like a confused week ahead, starting with bright sun this monday. Everywhere north of Molenuex should get some really nice sun all day, but down in the southern parts we can expect some cloud and maybe a little light drizzle. In the mountain regions, towards the East the MET office have issued a flash flood warning as that Ice Cap is expected to finnaly melt away today or tommorow. moving on to tuesday and we see this weather system of High Pressure sweeping across towards the west coast, so all you folks up in Duban can expect some quite heavy rain at some point. The rest of the country should be pretty nice with the sun peaking through some thin cloud cover, especially arround Pablicosta City. Through Tuesday night we will see this cloud and rain cover drift off to the north, and by arround 5am it should be clearing Old Castle nicely. For Wednesday we can expect some bright sun, so slap on that protection! Highs of arround 42 degrees in the areas arround Pheonix and Fairview, reaching 38 in the capitol. Thursday we are going to see the sun again, but a very strong North Easterly wind should knock a fair bit off the temperature, avveraging arround 25 degrees in most parts. Fom Friday morning we will see more bright sun, which will last right through Saturday and Sunday untill early hours of Monday when we can expect a little more light cloud cover. Back to you Rachel".

Rachel French-"Thanks for that Carrol, I'm looking forward to some nice sun-bathing this week! The main story today, The Timlington City Bridge which crosses the Philly River, joining the North and South of Timlington has collapsed. The accident is beleived to have happened during the rush hour, as a combination of weight and the mechanical works taking place on the structure. Cars, lorries and busses plunged the 107 feet down into the water, followed by peiecs of debris form the bridge. The huge suspension bridge is the second largest in Pablicosta, and as its huge 1.3 metre thick cables whipped back across the bridge structure, they tore through the metal and concrete structure. Several cars were split in two by the whipping effect, and many were severely injured. Thankfully a military operations helicopter was operating downriver and was able to act as an emergency ambulance, taking the injured to the Thomas Cook hopsital in Timlington. It is beleived that 43 people were fattaly injured in this terrible incident, and hundreds more injured.

Vice President John Grimshaw has today gone against his usual pesamistic style to declare that Pablicosta is not at threat fo any terrorist action against the state. IN a public conference Mr Grimshaw said, "I assure you that we are in no danger fo terrorism. Although other nations have suffered greatly from this attrocity, Pablicosta has managed not to annoy any of the famed Terroist groups". Howvere, many critics have said that The Vice President has only made the current situation worse, by encouraging terorist groups such as Al Sahmeed to unleash peril on our cities.

And in a saddening story, Veteran Sir Reginald Sprocket, HICC, who was 137, has dies in hospital today. Sir Sprocket was the oldest, and alst remaining veteran of the Five Trenches War, where he won his Honour in Combat Cross for risking his life to save the lifes of fourteen men in his group. Sir Sprocket will be sadly missed by his close friend, Ambassedor Elizibeth Windsor whom he spent many years working with after the war was won. The dashing Veteran stayed active untill the last, when he finnaly surcame to a century long battle against Lung Cancer. Rest In Peace, Sir Reginald Sprocket, HICC.

Minister for Criminal Controll David Right has spoken out in an public conference today, telling reporters that The recent drout in car crime is ending as many youngsters take to the streets in search of hot rides. The police are looking for anyone acting supsicously arround vehicles, especially those on their "target list", which is expected to be publicly available by Wednesday.

And in Molenuex, Political rights demonstrators have taken to the streets once again to convince the public that a more capitolst government is needed. They beleive that the ammount of civil rights available to the general public is un-nescesery. However, Vice President John Grimsahw said today that he beleives this government has a strong balance, with liberal and capitolist ruling styles.

:cowboys "Tax increase only option" says John Cummings, MP.

Mr Cummings is beleived to have come to this descision with the aid of the assorted heads of PHS, who have allready spoken out telling of poor standards within the organisation. The President, Pabli, has acknowledged this recommednation, but has told reporters that he is not likely to bump taxes up ay time soon. Rachel French-"Good morning and welcome, this is PNNC broadcasting direct to you across Pablicosta and the Region of Texas from Pheonix City, on Channel 7. It's Sunday May 9th, it's the Evening Report with me Rachel French.

The Headlines This Evening

:cowboys "Stupid Laws" to be revoked immediatley by a council of legal reflection set up by The Deputy President today.
:cowboys Haunting murder case in Duban finnaly closed.
:cowboys And The baseball league started today, we have our Sports reporter Terry Genes.

But first the major story today, the scrapping of ten laws which untill now have been abided by. The laws are general to the region of Texas and include such rulings as "a city ordinance states that a person cannot go barefoot without first obtaining a special five-dollar permit". Gemma Hague can tel us more. Gemma?

Gemma Hague-"Thanks Rachel. I'm here outside Whitehall, which is where all Laws for Pablicosta are passed or revoked and where the council of 5 men and women met today. The group have been appointed by the Deputy President to review and reflect on many aspects of Pablicostan life, and their first task is to look upon the law system of Pablicosta. This list was published at noon today detailing which laws will be scrapped at 12 midnight tonight;
A city ordinance states that a person cannot go barefoot without first obtaining a special five-dollar permit.
It is illegal to take more than three sips of beer at a time while standing.
It is legal to commit a homicide as long as you tell the person when, and how you are going to kill them.
You cannot buy beer after midnight on Sunday, but you can buy it on Monday.
There is an old law in Texas that states you are unable to tuck your pants into one boot unless you own ten or more cattle.
It is illegal to spit on the sidewalk. If two trains going in opposite directions on the same track meet each other, one can't move until the other does.
It is illegal to carry a pair of wire-cutters in your pocket.
In Dallas County it is illegal to own any realistic looking, phallic shaped, personal massager.
In Corpus Christie it is illegal to raise alligators in your home.

These laws have for years not been acted upon, although the governemtn and police bodies have had to pay annualy to keep the laws active in the borders of our nation. A news paper poll today showed that 82% of the population think these laws should be scrapped, whilst a frther 12% think there are far more laws that need to be axed. The council is expected to re ajurn tomorrow afternoon to discuss any more laws which need review. Back To Rachel in The Studio.
