I'm waiting for someone to take this the next step and present a national map. If they locate a map of their county, edit the names, add a couple dams and lakes, mebbe in canal, new cities, road and railways, national parks...

Now. most of us, have neighbors as well. Joint projects can be entered into, trade relations established, all kinds of neat suff.

Another thing I've considered is assigning "provisional counties" to nations not requesting them. These would be available for selection and moved if someone seeking a county made a request for that county, and those with such assignments could make their request for an available county and placed like anyone else should they become interested.

Doing this would allow ALL nations in the region to have a physical location on the map. These counties would be numbered and their national names appear in the index, but all would be a singlular color, possibly light brown, indicating they are "provisional" locations.

The index would then include both every county and every nation in Texas.

Yeah, I like that idea!

[Or should I say "Idy" ]

This way we can tell approximately how big Texas really is.

One suggestion, try not to assign those nations to areas that you know are in big demand.

Really wouldn't matter. They would be "proviional" assignments and as available as an unoccupied county for anyone making a request. Only counties requested and held for the 10 day waiting period would become FIRM. Once declared firm they are the owners and cannot be taken from them.

In fact, I think I'll work on a prototype map to see what it looks like. Could be an interesting project.

I will be sure to fortify my eastern border to defend against possible Louisianian invasion. However, I think my people are civilized enough to not do such an idiotic thing :bow . The official road linking our two nations passes through my territory so I have made it a welcome station. I want to make visitors feel at home. Please send me some TEXAS ideas about what to put in my shop
:cowboy :beerchug :gun_smilie :taco :lobster :tx . Thanks.

The map look okay, I think it's missing something.

It needs to be more original. Kind of like the Heartland's map.

We could use this map, just to see where everyone wants to be located at.
Then create an original map with the boundaries similiar to the counties.

Has -Texas- started working on the map?

P.S. I still think making Texas into an island would be cool.

The provisional counties seem like a cool idea. It'll show people how large we actually are. The only problem comes when we get more than 255 countries.

As far as the map, I think the one we have is pretty cool, but if people want to do some other creative stuff with it more power to them.

ideas about what to put in my shop

Being located on the regional border with Louisana there was two important functions that I can think of immediately:

1. Being sure all bands entering the region have the mandatory fiddle player...

2. Assuring an ample supply of gumbo is available at all time.

Tim there are some options open to us. We can add at least an additional 125 counties in the areas included in the former lands of the Republic of Texas, but even beyond this, expansion potential does exist...

A little bit of creative future history and we could explain how when Texas left the US, it wond the entire Mexican Cession in an international court case doubling even the size of the former national territory and, if later that poses restrictions...

We can use the disputed territorial disagreements between Spain, England, and the United States resolved at the Treaty of Ghent to build a case that Greater Texas actually includes ALL territory west of our former panhandle line, thus including the northwest and western Canada yet again doubling our land area. Then, if that poses a limit, then able to accomodate 1.600 nations...

We could always again rewrite future history awarding Alaska and Hawaii to Texas as punative damages received for treaty violations. That should easily take us to 2,000 nations.

After that we may need to get creative. :)

So, is this map dead? EGT is no longer with us and his profile doesn't include the map. It seems a shame if the whole map is thrown out. A lot of hard work went into it.

Gosh, I hope not. I like the county map, and EGT was doing a great job. I never thought that a 2nd map was needed, especially one like the Heartland's or Wysteria's.

Come back, please, Even Greater Texas et. al.

Yes, I do hope he does return.

But, maybe he has gone to the moon.

[ Whistles to himself ]

FLY ME TO THE MOON (Frank Sinatra)

Fly me to the moon
Let me sing among those stars
Let me see what spring is like
On Jupiter and Mars

In other words, hold my hand
In other words, baby kiss me

Fill my heart with song
Let me sing for ever more
You are all I long for
All I worship and adore

In other words, please be true
In other words, I love you
