personally, my mind changes all the time regarding these things, but after the bombings im swaying more towards the "yes" camp. tho i cannot wait for all the pathetic conspiracies: "the government paid suicude bombers so everyone would back id cards..."... SHUT UP MORONS! anyway, wot does everyone else think of them? |

lmao I was actually thinking that, it might be true. But it doesn't matter, I've always thought it was a good thing and I still do. :D So yes on ID Cards But then again, the suicide bombers were in actual fact british themselves so erm...the ID cards wouldn't have really stopped them, right? |

Im gna go undecided. On one hand theyre a good idea, wood provide everyone with simple id and the police would know who everyone was, but on the other hand, would it really stop crime that much? It seems like a big waste of money to me in many ways. In other european countries like germany for example, id is compulsory to have in some shape or form, and its impossible to get around long distance without it, supoosedly helping administration and stuff. It also stinks of the begnnings of B.B. but tahts not really a political opinion of mine,, just the extent to which 1984 made me think about things |

there are good points on both sides of the argument, but after the bombings they would certainly give people some more reassurance theyre safe from terrorists |

Even if there was a false sense of security? I'm all for it but knowing our government they will screw it up some way or another for instance, it might cost them 10 times as much as the original costs. Hopefully they have an actual problem specification this time for this plan. |

i have to agree with them, although there are flaws i jus think that something tht has all your details can come in very useful in some situations like with the police etc, they will b a bit expensive mind but i do like the biometrics thingys that will be on them etc |

Undecided - Theres not really alot of things you can get these days for proof of age / ID . What do we have, proviosnal, passport, and some crappy young scot thing? Most places dont accept uni ID cards as proof of ID, mainly coz they can be forged so easily. I see it as a good thing in a way that everyone will have proof of ID, no mroe underagers in the pubs!!! But most likely the way this will all be set up will go down the shitter |

I'm not sure. It can be a good thing, and would be good as well if they would combine everything onto the one card, so you don't have to an NI card, drivers license etc If one card does the lot then good. But at a charge of £90+ per person?? |
